Meant to say only in doubt if MORE than six apply!
Not sure if you picked it up from the planning report, but Government allocated a CO2 budget to airports that they must not exceed. Assuming LBA reaches 7m pax and has the new terminal, it would use up around 75% of that budget. Not even close to using the whole budget and as aircraft become cleaner, that figure will drop further. Something the likes of GALBA won't want anyone to see.
I would strongly suggest that you read the report if you intend speaking in Thursday. It's very informative and interesting.

Just replied to you but got a 'security error' so u may get this twice.

Ive only seen excerpts so far, could you please send me a link. Thanks.

Let's just hope the application is passed, it's what LBA has needed for years. I assume though that if it is rejected there'll be an opportunity to appeal? And even possibly have someone from the planning inspectorate to have the final say?

It's in Leeds Lads post at 3.18pm last Wednesday, 3rd. 'Council & Democracy'. Once in, click on Agenda Document pack and the entire report including all the objectors is there. Skip past that lot and then you will find the Planning Officers reports and recommendation.

Trying not to stress and thinking positive thoughts ;
1. Planning have approved it
2. Lba is staying quiet because they have this in hand and don't want to ruffle any feathers at this stage
This seems the most logical solution.
So based on the above I think I can just about deal with the next two days but I won't be able to watch online. Too tense for me I'm afraid.
Will anyone be speaking from the airport at the committee?

Yes. They will do. No doubt they too get just a few minutes to justify a planning application that must have already cost a fortune in fees and salary.

Could someone please confirm when the first flight of the day left LBA. I have in my head KLM at 06:10, but I need confirmation. Thanks.

Another article on line by Richard Beecham once again highlighting the opposition. Good to see that this open letter, and a statement by GALBAs agitator in chief are still telling the same lies, totally ignoring the fact they have been disproved within the Planning officer report and by the independent consultants brought in by the Council to verify (or disprove) LBAs claims.

These people are just impossible.

Well restrained comment WH.

The worry is if the councillors who vote believe this rubbish or will sense prevail. I hope the airport put up a robust counter reply that everyone can see is the right way forward. And we are dealing with an issue that involves only 4 million to 7 million per year. Many UK airports are way past that number now. I hope the development goes ahead as West Yorkshire needs a gateway that people will be proud of.

I think Ryanair had a departure to Vilnius at 0600 ish, as it was back at LBA by lunchtime, and an early Dublin. In peak summer we had maybe 5 or 6 departures prior to 7am. Just the KLM in winter.
yes ryanair operated an 06.30 to dublin, me and a mate took this flight so we could spend the day at dublin airport, great viewing point at the start of the runway there

you say most airports are past the 7 million mark, that was the case but with the virus i think its a case of most starting their pax figures from scratch again, the aviation industry has completely changed, if LBA gets the go ahead it puts us in a strong position!

Most UK airports were not above 7 mppa pre-pandemic.

This is the 12-monthly rolling passenger totals for UK airports for February 2020, the last month before the pandemic effects began to be felt.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
