I think the fundamental problem is there aren't enough toilets for the number of people using the airport.

Toilets at proper airports are clean and ary and in a sizable room. Toilets at LBA are dirty, smelly and they're in a cramped space not much bigger than a cupboard.

Does that include those that have just been totally refurbished at considerable expense Aviador? Or is that statement based on how they were prior to that work?

I agree, we need to move on from the toilet discussion. Hopefully somebody will be able to share some pictures of the changes as they happen. The terminal front that is, not the bogs.

Someone as telling me at the weekend that they are going to replace the runway/taxiway lights with new LED lights. Can anyone add anything to this rumour?

Yes, that is correct. The runway lighting will be upgraded to LEDs. Work will be carried out over the winter period
and will take 3 years to complete.

Excellent news. It would be awfully good if we could, at last, have some centreline greens along taxiway Alpha. Or even reflective studs or cat's eyes.

hi mode 1
we used the lounge this year prior to our flight pathos,we had no problems with the toilet location as they are directly opposite the lounge, and they were clean and all working.

I am sure that LBA are planning to relocate the Premier Lounge within the terminal, so perhaps when this happens, it may have its own set of dedicated upmarket loos that the punters don't have to share with the bog standard passengers :)

A toilet is a toilet, as long as they are clean (and work) does it matter who uses them?

As Aviador said in the pub last night, this could only happen at LBA...a whole page discussion about the bogs!!

I must shoulder that responsibility Bigman. It was I who suggested the fate of the baggage reclaim facilities and it snowballed from there.

I normally go to the loo before the lounge now, and unless I'm there for ages (flight delay) I can usually manage until it's time to go to the gate, if not it's hardly far and the desk people seem to manage to remember you when you get back.

So I would view the lack of lounge loos as a minor inconvenience!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
