The Cafe will have to cope with this extra cost to eat there and may find it difficult.
The great team of staff there deserve to be supported better.
I have an aircraft owners card but pay a lot for that too in more ways than one.
I can also walk across in 5 mins if I dont have luggage or bags to carry.
I would offer parking at my place to forum members but do not really have the room on a narrow street.

During my return to the gatherings after a 20 year or so absence it was so pleasing to see cheap parking and a cafe run by very excellent staff. I still work full time but find the increase appalling and fully support the plan we have in place to fight back. So perhaps Multiflight should move to DSA because as a300boy rightly points out there is something called Robin Hood.

Hopefully in time we will get a proper viewing area once the link road is sorted out and Multiflight will be history
Luckly for me I park at the Tarn, as I have an agreement with my grandchildren that if they get time playing games/feeding the fish etc and then an ice cream at the cemetery, Granddad gets to plane watch for while.
Fortunatley my 10 month old grandson, does not require any bribes at the moment, however, he did decide he required his nappy changing as the RAF airbus A400M did its circuit recently, not having a good time with this aircraft type, a previous time when overhead at LBA, I had a new camera and failed to take a proper photo, third time lucky hopefully.

Great News for Multiflight Leeds/Bradford facility, It has just been voted 10th best FBO facility throughout Europe. Lets hope this makes them get on with building the planned new multi-million (£) pound development that was revealed not so long ago.

MULTIFLIGHT VOTED A TOP 10 EUROPEAN FBO

Multiflight is celebrating after beating off competition from major fixed based operations across Europe to be voted a top 10-ranking European FBO.

Multiflight has been voted one of Europe’s leading FBO facilities by qualified, aircraft operating readers of European Business Air News (EBAN) in the 2018 annual FBO Survey. Over 2,500 FBOs, handlers and agents were part of the survey run by the leading magazine for business aviation.

Multiflight, which handles all private aviation and business flights at Leeds Bradford Airport, has been awarded 10th place in the EBAN survey, placing it above many much larger FBO facilities at airports across Europe. These include Milan, Stockholm, Cannes and Paris.

First place in the survey went to London (Stansted): Universal Aviation UK. Second was Geneva: Jet Aviation Geneva.

“To be ranked 10th in the whole of Europe as an FBO facility, when facing competition from much bigger airports with far greater traffic movements, is a major achievement for Multiflight and the FBO team,” says Heather Borrowdale, Multiflight’s Handling Manager.

“This is a major success story for a West-Yorkshire based business. Being voted 10th European FBO makes us extremely proud: our top 10 ranking is testament to the dedication and hard work of the FBO team and our great attention to clients’ needs.”

Heather says that a strong focus on service and always going that extra mile for clients is what helped secure the top ranking for Multiflight.

“Our location, just a few miles from the booming city of Leeds, and within a busy, popular region, means we are kept busy with traffic movements, including stop-overs and refuelling. We handle a broad range of clients, including a number of sports teams. Our emphasis on total client satisfaction seems to be appreciated.”

Nothing is ever too much trouble for the FBO team. They have been known to search the length and breadth of Yorkshire for a particular wine for a client, and also to send a taxi to collect a newspaper after failing to locate it locally for another client.

“We always aim to please and our continuing growth and traffic numbers are an indication that our clients value the quality of service we provide: as too, of course, is being voted the 10th FBO in Europe. Private travel continues to increase in popularity as people recognise just how time and cost-effective it can be.”

Multiflight regularly handles calls from emergency ambulance crews and is always on stand-by to get extra staff in, whatever the hour, to deal with these calls.

“While many of the flights we deal with are pleasure and business flights, we also handle emergency ambulance flights and it is imperative that we offer a responsive service,” says Heather.

The FBO caters for all sizes of aircraft, from light aircraft to VIP business jets and 757s and features a dedicated taxiway from the apron and two barrel-vaulted hangars covering 6,300 square metres.

I cleared my driveway yesterday and I might as well have not bothered. Today there was as much snow there again. My street is basically compacted snow and ice. One fool shredded his van tyres trying to get back up the hill leaving black rubber everywhere.

My neighbour slid his van straight into another neighbours' tree today whilst trying to turn into our little cul-de-sac. He was only doing about 5 mph but could do nothing as his Transit slid sideways into the tree trunk, smashing his headlight, bumper and damaging the front wing. The snow isn't as powdery or blowy today, which is probably why the runway is now open, but it is compacting down into ice as soon as anyone drives on it.

Fascinating, what make of van is it and how's the tree?
Sorry couldn't resist.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
