Important Update

This was to be expected and I know this will up set some, it's a place we spotters and aviation enthusiasts on here regularly go to meet up at Leeds/Bradford Airport. But inline with the Government latest Corona Virus advice Multiflight have just announced that the Cafe/viewing area on the south side of the airfield will be closed from tomorrow until further notice.

I just hope that once the café reopens to sit down punters, they have given the place a through clean. It really has been a disgrace over the last few years and has been sadly neglected. Mucky floors and windows (that leak) and 10 years worth of cobwebs on the windows and ceilings. That trifid in a bucket that takes up half the space needs to be got rid of as well.

Lots of confusion regarding the new rules for restaurants and cafes. Seems that restaurants have to take your order at the table unless it’s also a takeaway (e.g. McDonald’s) where you can still queue to place your order and catch the virus there before going to your table! Even Dominic Raab was totally confused when asked to explain the requirements and seemingly gave out duff information. Even those making the rules don’t understand them.

I presume that the cafe will be going back to a takeaway service only from Thursday?

Yes that notice was for when we were due to move to "Tier 3" today. This is no longer the case.
However, from Thursday the cafe will have be closed for eating in and just doing take away I assume

IMPORTANT!
From Thursday 5th November we will be offering a limited take-out service! Monday-Friday 8:30am till 3pm! It will be a heavily reduced menu as I hope you understand but still plenty for you to choose from! We appreciate the support the last few months and would appreciate it even more if you were to visit us for takeout throughout November!
We will be posting our reduced menu on here and on our Instagram page this afternoon so keep a lookout.
PRE-ORDER IS ESSENTIAL as we are running a reduced team and of course for Covid-19 safety measures.
We are all remaining positive and hope to see you all enjoying our hospitality inside our cafe in December!
Thank you

Sadly I tried ringing this morning to order some take out food and the phone was constantly engaged !
I assume that many others were ordering but I gave up at 0930 after 10 attempts.

One to look out for in the near future - Dauphin G-NHAE, registered to Multiflight on 2/12 and is ex G-DOLF. The aircraft, which arrived a few months ago, will obviously be joining to ever growing Northern Helicopters fleet

The following message has just appeared on Multiflight Cafes Facebook page.

IMPORTANT

Sadly Multiflight cafè will be closing for the time being. It is with a heavy heart that we are doing this, but it is our only viable option for the future for the safety of our staff and the public.

Thank you everyone who visited us over the last couple of months during the takeout period and for everyone’s continued support. We hope to see all of our wonderful customers enjoying our hospitality in the near future.

Stay safe and sending love to all our wonderful customers! Here’s to a happy and healthy to you all

Sounds like we could be going into pretty much a full lock-down again tonight, so they would probably have been forced to shut in any case.

It’s very likely that takeaways will continue to be allowed under the new rules to be announced so I don’t think that would have forced closure.

However, the practical difficulties and challenges of trying to remain open even just for takeaway are probably too much, and it may be better just to furlough staff.

Has anyone heard on the grapevine of any potential re-opening date for the cafe, even if it is for takeaway only?

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
