Multiflight sponsors Yorkshire County Cricket Club

Mon 4th March 2013

Yorkshire County Cricket Club players took to the air with Multiflight today, Monday, March 4th, to mark the launch of a two-year partnership.

Multiflight is proud to announce it is sponsoring Yorkshire County Cricket Club and is now the Club’s Official Private Aviation Partner.

Multiflight welcomed YCCC players and representatives to its facility at Leeds Bradford Airport today for a tour and a flight in one of Multiflight’s luxury charter Dauphin helicopters. The flight took the YCCC group of visitors over Headingley Cricket Ground, Leeds and the surrounding area.

“We are delighted to become the Official Private Aviation Partner of Yorkshire County Cricket Club,” said Steve Borrowdale, Multiflight’s Managing Director.

“We are firm supporters of the Club and this new sponsorship further cements this. It is the Club’s 150th anniversary this year and it is truly one of the most famous cricket clubs in the world.”

Andy Dawson, Commercial Director at Yorkshire County Cricket Club, said: “Multiflight is an established friend of Yorkshire County Cricket Club and we are extremely pleased that the Company is now the Club’s Official Private Aviation Partner. Multiflight is a great Yorkshire institution itself and we are glad we are able to work together and fly the flag for our great county throughout the world.”

YCCC players Jack Brooks, Steven Patterson and Azeem Rafiq were in the YCCC group visiting Multiflight today.

Pictures show the YCCC players at Multiflight today. They are pictured on a tour of Multiflight, which featured the Multiflight Boeing 737-300 corporate aircraft, which is available for private charter; the simulator, and the Multiflight Flight Training Centre, where the players had a session on learning to fly at Multiflight, and also on the Dauphin helicopter they went on a flight in. They are pictured in front of the helicopter with Multiflight Finance Director Miles Beecham.

That is a good video - had to laugh at the taxiing down to the apron - the film speeded up - if there was such a thing as a speeding ticket for an airline pilot, that one just earned one.

Looks like the modification work to the Multiflight Hangar has now been completed so that Leeds based low cost airline Jet2.com who lease that side of the hangar can now fit its Boeing 757-200 aircraft into it, fully enclosed.

Multiflight hangar now accommodates 757 aircraft

Thu 9th May 2013

Multiflight has carried out modifications to one of its barrel vaulted hangars at its Leeds Bradford Airport facility to accommodate a 757 aircraft.

In partnership with Jet2, Multiflight has modified the door of one of its two barrel vaulted hangars to allow the tail fin of a Boeing 757 aircraft to enter the hangar. Previously the hangar allowed for access for Boeing 737-800 sized aircraft, but not 757s.

“Our two barrel vaulted hangars provide a first class hangarage service for a wide range of aircraft and the work that we have just carried out allows us to hangar 757 aircraft for Jet2,” said Steve Borrowdale, Multiflight’s Managing Director.

“Jet2 leases one of our hangars and until now they have been restricted to 737-800 sized aircraft using the Multiflight hangar. We are delighted that we can now offer hangarage for 757s, which further improves Multiflight’s facilities.”

Multiflight offers excellent hangarage at competitive rates. The two barrel vaulted hangars cover 6,300 square metres: room to accommodate four Boeing 737-800 sized aircraft.

Whether you want an aircraft hangared for a night, a month or year, Multiflight offer rates to suit your needs. Multiflight can accommodate most aircraft and provides optimum levels of service, including a dedicated aircraft cleaning service.

Multiflight services include aircraft maintenance, engineering, full aircraft management and support.

Once your aircraft is based here at Multiflight at Leeds and you have a permanent contract there are a number of major benefits. These include discounted landing fees, full handling service, plus other services and discounts. Please call 0113 238 7146 for full information.

It's just a shame that the pictures released by Multiflight today show a Boeing 737-300 instead of the larger Boeing 757-200 which the modification work was carried out for.

Only being operated for Multiflight by the new company but if its in Malta I dont see it spending much time at Lbia.

Multiflight don't seem to hang on to the larger aircraft for very long.

I don't see this changing anything except the aircraft registration, which is now Maltese instead of Greek. Multiflight are still involved as they were before and the aircraft will be busy again this winter flying various football teams around the country and Europe no doubt. When I visited Multiflight a few months back the aircraft had Newcastle United stickers on it, by the door, and I was told they also fly Tottenham, Arsenal, Chelsea England (as in the photos) and a number of other clubs/countries. I was told then that they would be transferring ownership of the aircraft to another company, so it looks like this is happening now. There was no suggestion that the home base for the aircraft would be anywhere other than LBA.

t was suggested it would be operated by Eastern Airways but that seems to have gone by the way. We will have to see how many times it graces our little airfield this year. I suspect it wont be carrying Leeds Utd to any european matches for a while yet.

The Vulcan could still do a low fly past though. I well remember one taking part in the last ever air display at Yeadon in the early 1960's, so it would be fantastic to see one doing a few circuits and go -rounds. I don't think the NIMBY's would appreciate it too much though.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
