Great picture. How many overnighters are there typically?

Think we currently have about 22x night stopping aircraft at LBA as follows.

1x JS41 = Eastern Airways
1x 2000 = Eastern Airways
1x E190 = KLM City Hopper
1x B738 = Thomson Airways
3x B738 = Ryanair.com
2x A320 = Monarch Airlines
2x B738 = Jet2.com
5x B733 = Jet2.com (1 is parked up spare back up aircraft)
5x B752 = Jet2.com (1 is parked up spare back up aircraft)
1x B752 = Titan Airways (On lease to Jet2)

Many thanks lbaspotter.

The back up aircraft are for the whole company but I believe they may have at least one back up aircraft at another base.

As well as the 1x B733 & B752 sat at LBA Jet2 also have at least another 1x B733 & 1x B752 at MAN along with a 1x B733 at ALC on stand by during the peak summer months.

this is the main reason for the leased aircraft which come into operation every summer.

With the limited amount of stands we have I would love to know how they are going to fit an extra 4th based Ryanair Boeing 737-800WL into that mix next summer?

LBA must have a trick up there sleve as it was about this time last year they were planning to add 2x Flybe, Embrear 190's into this summers parking plans without adding concrete, well that's was until they decided to go off and base them at DSA.

I remember when Capital Airlines went into receivership in 1990 (I think) and we lost most of our regional services, some international and passenger figures slumped, but things will get better.

The first time I visited LBA was in 1968 and at that time passenger figures were 250/300K. It has taken a long time to get to 4M and as I said there have been ups & downs but overall great expansion. I don't think I will be alive to see them reach 10M, but I'm sure they will.

Not much different from spotting at Bristol where it's dominated by Easyjet. Was nice to see the Q400 back in the skies!
I like the blue and white livery of the new flybe. Also good to see the big increase in flights again, its like B737 central at LBA atm!

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
LBA: B737-300 G-GDFK empty down to Paris at 16:15 to operate the return LS268 back to Leeds 20:00 ETA where it will then operate the delayed LS265 to Malaga 20:40ETD
LBA: Albastar B737-800 EC-MUB positioning in tommorow afternoon from Gatwick 15:45 to operate a charter to Lourdes/Tarbes on Friday afternoon 14:00 AP7721 STC
I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
