Jet2 B737-800 G-GDFF seen parked up on stand 19 after positioning in from Manchester earlier. Not many 737-800s without winglets and Jet2 don’t often base FF and FJ at Leeds so always nice to see one in.IMG_3574.webp

That’s because G-GDFF & J are both noise rule breakers if operating through LBA in summer months.

A few images from the late 80s/early 90s, by clicking on each image it clears the pic quality.
What a line up of aircraft on taxi in the first image! MEA 707, BM dc9 and in the background a balkan tu154 just starting its taxi!

Nationair used 2 of my favourite aircraft, the B757 and on odd occasions the dc8 of which on one occasion i was lucky to catch! I believe nationair operated the LBA to toronto route around 1990 to 92 after taking over the route from odyssey, then i believe it was air transat then caledonian?IMG_20260603_220546.jpgIMG_20260603_220637.jpg

Back around 1994/95 aer lingus flew one of their A330s into LBA to promote their new jfk service from dublin. Sure it was a Wednesday around midday the A330 landed at LBA?

2nd pic, A beautiful looking md83 of adria at LBA! Guess this would be around 1991/2?

3rd pic, A blast from the past! The view from the old upstairs cafe/bar which was for those wanting to view the planes or see a loved one depart or arrive! In the pic is an air UK shorts 360 and in the background on taxi an md83 from oasis airlines who operated some flights into LBA around the mid 90s i believe?
Who can remember when everytime a flight landed they used to announce the arrival and where it was from! 😂
I have many pics so will keep postingView attachment 33516

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
LBA: B737-300 G-GDFK empty down to Paris at 16:15 to operate the return LS268 back to Leeds 20:00 ETA where it will then operate the delayed LS265 to Malaga 20:40ETD
LBA: Albastar B737-800 EC-MUB positioning in tommorow afternoon from Gatwick 15:45 to operate a charter to Lourdes/Tarbes on Friday afternoon 14:00 AP7721 STC
I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
