Half year profits for the group announced. Up 7% to around £157million of which £65 million is going on dividends with the councils getting £40 million (more than half for Manchester Council).

MAN had more passengers than STN in this period despite STN not having a "Monarch" effect and "The new long haul routes, coupled with strong short haul growth that backfilled Monarch’s capacity and a resurgence in Summer traffic to Turkey, means MAG forecasts a return to significant passenger growth for Manchester for the remainder of the year and for next Summer. I'll post this here, just in case anyone else has experienced the problem.

It appears the system is not allowing images to be uploaded. Aviador is aware of the problem and it will be sorted as soon as possible.

In the meantime I'll do a final update of October's stats tomorrow, as well as NOTAMS/OANS and the MANTP threads once the relevant images can be included.

I just wondered if anyone knew why B pier lost the airbridges that were installed when B pier was refurbished at what I’m sure was no small cost. I know that those stands are frequently used by EasyJet but as an airline they aren’t totally adverse to using airbridge.

I’ve been on Thomas Cook flights from those stands that have used the airbridges and they are far newer than some of those on C pier and the original pier A of T3.

I know that a few airbridges have been removed from some of the newer stands on T3 but those stands are ones that either see Ryanair flights or Regional aircraft. I recognise that there is a cost associated with maintaining airbridges but it’s surprising that on stands that serve predominantly A320/757 aircraft that they have been removed. 7A928283-A4C8-435A-AAE5-C259F8050275.webpCFD53A4E-060E-4977-BA45-81721E7AE990.webp

I think if they have a choice they would choose steps and it's possible MAN consulted them especially if they used the stands the most.

And you had the crazy arrival process, as in go down stairs, walk through a narrow corridor that was not sheltered from the elements and then up some stairs. Best off without them, especially for the likes of easyJet and jet 2

Looking closer at that pier you realize it really is a piece of living history!

I bet the airport was more exciting back then too as with most airports!

It was and it wasn`t, the high lite of a sunday afternoon was the SAS Caravelle/DC9 and the evening was the Swissair
hoping for a DC-9 50 and later md-80 and there wasn`t much in between

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
