Great idea and a change from the usual predictable airport fayre. Sadly, it was not open when I passed through the airport this morning en route to AMS.

One thing that i think would make it even more popular would be the ability to purchase things and have them delivered to your home address after your holiday. Things such as jams etc you don't want to take to a hot country unless you are having them (Villa Holiday). I think that offer coupled with christmas hampers would make it competitive as the high street.

or Tetley's bitter.
Tetley's Bitter doesn't qualify as Yorkshire produce since they knocked down the brewery in Leeds (thanks Carlsberg!). It is brewed in Northampton now. No wonder its a rare sight in the pubs now.
We still have plenty of Yorkshire ale though don't we? Black Sheep, Theakstons, Leeds Brewery, Timothy Taylors, Samuel Smiths, John Smiths (if that stuff counts), Skipton Brewery, Ilkey Brewery, Ossett Brewery, Wharfedale Brewery and plenty more. They could fill a shop just with bottled beer before they even start on the food.

Saltaire Blonde, Kirkstall Three Swords (sorry Snowman!), Elland 1872 Porter, Briscoes Victorian Velvet, Bridgehouse Aired Ale, Rudgate Battle Axe.....the list is endless!!!!

The grey flooring is separate to the refurbished Saltaire bar/restaurant and is the same flooring which was laid during the last terminal works in 2012. I would agree with you that it looks very poor now, having cracks in it and bits missing. Hopefully the flooring will be replaced as part of the works to demolish the old leisure/business lounges.

New hoardings have been erected around the area of the new lounges showing artist impressions of how it will look when it opens in April.

There will be three lounges: The Yorkshire Lounge (Leisure), White Rose Suite (Business) and The 1432 Runway Club (Premium).

The main issue I had with this bar was customers blocking the main concourse, (blocking wheel chairs etc) this problem still seems to remain. When you have passengers sitting in the public seats with bags on the floor and friends stopping to chat, add in the bar customers seeking space and taking drinks on to the concourse, which is the main route to 70% of the gates, a complete bottle neck on this corner, especially if queues from gates 4/5.
It just seems a return to the states quo, and no improvement.
Will check out on my next 5/7am visit.

I can see the advantage of having a sports shop selling club shirts from all our regions teams but in fairness to LUFC they have a huge overseas following and probably more so than all the regions other clubs put together.

Whilst I too am not happy about this I suppose business is business. Can't see this new Argie bloke doing anything at LUFC so just one more to go to Christmas............

Being a BCFC fan I’m not a happy man.....why a Leeds shop and not all the local teams......and Huddersfield being the regions only premiership club.....anyway stupid idea it wont last any longer than any of thier managers.....as the saying goes...only 2 more Leeds managers and it Christmas again.
Perhaps you should be looking at your club then Offint? Perhaps LUFC were prepared to pay the asking price to set up an outlet at LBA and the other clubs, including BCFC, were not? That apart, LBA is, in case we forget, situated in the city of Leeds.

And the "B" in LBA stands for..............

Bradford of course, but that doesn't alter the fact that:

a) LBA is situated in Leeds so there is no reason why the airport shouldn't have an outlet selling LUFC kit, particularly when LUFC has a considerably bigger following than the other teams (sorry, but that is fact). Chances are that more LUFC kit will be sold than any other team.
b) the shop unit is available for any business to rent if they are willing to pay the required rate set by LBA. It seems highly likely that LBA management didn't just invite LUFC to set up shop there. The space was probably advertised or an approach made to several businesses, including LUFC, to see if they were interested. If LUFC were the first to offer the required rate then good for them and the others, including Huddersfield, obviously missed out.

The ideal solution however, and one which I would have favoured (despite being an LUFC fan), is a shop outlet selling kit from ALL of our teams - well, at least Leeds United, Huddersfield, and Bradford City as the three big clubs in the vicinity of the airport. Clearly a larger shop would be required to do that and I suspect a shop of the required size isn't available.

There was a Leeds United shop in the terminal during the Peter Ridsdale era. Why did it close ?

And there was me thinking it was Yorkshire’s Airport ;-) personally I can’t wait until the Shaymen shop opens up at LBA, I believe it will be next to the Fantasy Island bar......
I am sure they could find room for FC Halifax Town and York City. Perhaps they should include Guiseley too! And to attract our South Yorkshire customers, Barnsley, Sheffield United, Sheffield Wendies, Doncaster, Rotherham. Maybe Hull :). Trouble is, I think we would then need a considerably bigger airport to put this considerably bigger shop in.

The reason there is no BCFC shop is that the goldfish tanks have been "Rupp" tured and we are "Edin" in the wrong direction. Certainly created a few shirty responses

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
