Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Expected Friday 13/01/12 & Saturday 14/01/12

Loganair are running a Saab 340 aircraft on a charter through LBA this coming Friday and Saturday. I don't know if its for Leeds Utd or Huddersfield FC.

Friday = LOG846P ETA 14:15 From Aberdeen - LOG857 ETD 15:00 to Biggin Hill

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

It seems that G-CELF headed North firstly on her departure and did a few circuits at FL370 over the North Sea before finally heading down to Belgrade, or Beograd as it shows on the LBA Deps/Arrs boards.

Does anyone know if this was just a few checks before she heads down there?

If you go onto FlightRadar and view the North Sea at time 15:00 exactly she is showing as the 'No Callsign' and then later shows up as EXS328 as their server mustn't have refreshed.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

G-CELF headed over the north sea as they have to do a test on this aircraft where they switch both engines off in mid flight, i dont no what this test is called maybe someone with more knowedge can shed some light on this

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

With regard to the Loganair Saab, I don' think it is Leeds United's, as today when they interviewed Simon Grayson on the radio he said they had stayed down in London after Monday's match ready for the Palace game on Saturday. Bearing in mind that they travelled to Arsenal on the train (!) - not even in their own bus - its hard to imagine Ken Bates funding a flight even if they were currently in Leeds. A sign of the times perhaps when Leeds are going to the Emirates on public transport whilst Huddersfield are now regularly chartering flights for their longer trips away.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

It could just be a flight to take more Leeds United staff down to London...?

Thanks for that Moo2009

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Anyone know where EXS109C is heading ?
Its B737-300 G-GDFB and is just crossing the dutch coast eastbound having left lbia 35 mins ago.
I will track it to see where he ends up if I can.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Yep, G-GDFB positioned to Brussels to operate some BMW charter flights to FAO.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Regarding the Loganair Saab, it looks like it could be Leeds United after all. Despite the comments on Yorkshire Radio about staying down there, Simon Grayson was interviewed today and was at Thorp Arch and the YEP states they are travelling down tomorrow. The flight is heading to Biggin Hill which is, I am sure, the nearest airfield to Crystal Palace. In addition, Huddersfield Town are only playing Oldham.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Thanks for that Heather.... It seems Kenny has dipped in his pocket after all ;)

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Due to aircraft shortage tomorrow morning it looks as though Jet2 will be doubling up the Geneva LS285/286 service with the Glasgow LS159/160 Geneva service. So the service will be run by the Glasgow based Boeing 757-200WL, G-LSAL or Boeing 737-300, G-CELB.

LS159 = ETA 08:00 from Glasgow
LS285 = ETD 08:30 to Geneva
LS286 = ETA 14:00 from Geneva
LS160 = ETD 14:30 to Glasgow

This afternoon Leeds based Boeing 737-300, G-CELU positioned over to Manchester as LS031E and it looks like something else must be joining her over the hill in the morning as there is an LS038E due out at 06:30 as well. Meanwhile the normal Leeds based Boeing 737-300, G-GDFB is away operating charters along with Boeing 757-200, G-LSAM this weekend.

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

Due to so many 737's having their C-checks and various maintenance, on Sundays for the next few weeks the Glasgow-Geneva drops into Leeds to pick up and then drop off passengers.

This is mainly to free up utilisation on the 737's as the ones that are not away for overhauls are working nearly as much as they do in summer, leaving very little down time for ad-hoc maintenance and cabin upgrades which some are having. It also gives the 757's something to do as those Glasgow pilots are getting paid a fortune to fly to Tenerife once a month, as we now enter the two quietest months of the year.

Saturday 21/01/12

Flybe’s brand new Embrear 175, G-FBJB has worked today’s BE731/732 Belfast City - Leeds service.

Meanwhile Jet2’s all white Boeing 737-300, G-GDFB has just departed LBA as LS040E positioning down to Bournemouth for her paint job I understand...

Re: Movements Log & Heads Up

This afternoon two helicopters stopped in at LBA for what I presume to be re-fueling. They both arrived at around 15:30 and departed at 16:25.

My knowledge of helicopters is extremely basic, and so all I can tell you is that there were two helicopters. I was about 3 miles away as the crow flies and they seemed to be Military(?) and they headed South on departure.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.

Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
