I suspect they will drop CWL and do BHX double daily top compete with EK1 daily would be a start ?

If they can't compete with EK and have TK and AI too compete then that might give them pause in resuming BHX in the first place or at least until the economy picks up in the future. They don't just compete with EK anymore, they also have TK and AI to compete with.
Personally I think double daily is overkill, especially as they have been dormant from the city for 2/3 years.
No, 1 daily will do for starters, lo

Nope, sadly i think apart from World Cup charters it will probably be a very long time, if ever that they resume CWL.Yeah and head down to CWL instead Jez ?![]()
I'm sure that Qatar airways know their market. It's quite possible that the different timings that they used were to benefit both outbound and inbound passengers from major markets such as Australia. I had this experience when flying Emirates from BHX to SYD (back when it was an A330). The flight was daily at the same time and outbound, we had an 8 hour layover at DXB. On the return journey, we had to sprint from one end of the terminal to the other in order to make the connection at DXB.If/when they resume at BHX I hope we at least get a consistent timetable, compared to 2019 where the departures were at different times on different days of the week meaning connections didn't always line up well to Australia, for example.
Thet are keen for double daily to be serious competition to Emirates,Worth pointing out that with Emirates currently operating all flights on the B777, capacity to Dubai is down 30% and capacity to Dubai and Doha is down just over 40%.
A double daily Qatar 359 with Emirates keeping the B777 takes us back to 96% of pre covid, whilst Emirates switching one flight a day to the A380 would then give us 8% more capacity than pre covid.
Having said all that, I suspect the double daily slot request is so that Qatar get the flight times they want on the days they want. It'll likely only be daily with alternating flight times as before. Will be good to see a regular A350 though - would mean about a 10% increase in capacity vs the B787.
I thought everyone has to boycott all things Qatar these days?
U mention it might be a A350.How did you find that out?Does it announce the aircraft?Yes - 14pw A359 applied for but ACL is just slots, but I am hopeful![]()
I wasn't aware of any problem with the A350-1000 at BHX. Is this to do with the wheelbase (nose gear to main undercarriage)? The only aircraft that I know has a problem with this at BHX is the A340-600, due to the radius of the turns on taxiways (although, these comply with ICAO regulations). Is it still the case that the A351 can't use BHX?
