Odd for a date so far in advance & not a major variation on capacity?
Could be for a number of reasons.
Their 77L have more than twice the number of business class seats compared with the 788s.. for example 51 compared to 22.

So could easily be a large group flying business class.Or lack of a 788 that day.

I reckon they will increase to 9 or 10 weekly next year
Hard to tell yet.Big increase to the region with Saudia and EK.

Likely EK will go back to double daily A380 summer 2024.

However as you say if Qatar go 10 a week it massively helps flying Australia , NZ from BHX.

Currently EK offers about 24 hrs or so through Dubai being double daily

Qatar at just daily is 36-41hrs hours when I've done some dummy bookings, due waiting many hrs for next connection through Doha !

Thats not entirely accurate....

Flights from BHX-DOH-SYD for example are only 41 hrs on the days where the BHX Departure is a PM flight. On days the BHX Departure is an AM flight, the BHX-DOH-SYD takes only 23 hrs which is much more competative with EK. This is not helped by the fact that BHX-DOH and DOH-SYD are only 1x daily atm.

Look at BHX-DOH-MEL though and its a different story. DOH-MEL is 2x daily meaning that both BHX-DOH departures (AM&PM) connect directly into DOH-MEL flights... as such, all BHX-DOH-MEL flights are less than 24 hrs in length!

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
