ZZ335 RAF A330 turned up at 1625 and B-HKE B747-400 Cathay Pacific arrived at 15:20

Cathay Pacific sending B747-8F B-LJG on the CX37D tonight which arrives into MAN at 1830 and departs 2000.

Only the 2nd visit of a B747-8F after Cathay said they would be regulars at Manchester.

Estonian Air E170 ES-AEA departed yesterday after being parked up for the last few days.

Well, a few years ago, the A340-600 was a fairly rare visitor Manchester, in 2014 the picture has changed remarkably.

After Lufthansa, Virgin and Iberia sending in the A346, next up will be Etihad again (have sent it in the past including my personal favourite A6-EHJ F1 scheme) on the 18th February, sending one on the EY15/16 flight. All GDS systems shows the 1 off change.

In addition to the A340-600 on 18th, Etihad will also run one on the 19th, this time on the EY21/22 afternoon flight.

Also due on 18th will be VY1992 from Barcelona arriving at 10:00. It will depart at 04:45 on 19th as VY1993. Iberia should also be sending an A321 from Barcelona on 17th but times TBC.

A321's used on the evening Lufthana's to Frankfurt and Munich, and quite rare north of London is a Swiss A321 HB-IOD currently heading to MAN on tonights Zurich.

2 A340-600 and 1 B747-800 on the ground at the same time this afternoon.

The 2 A340's are D-AIHB of Lufthansa in for Air Livery, and A6-EHI of Etihad on the EY21/22 flight.

The B747-800 is B-JLI of Cathay Pacific just about to land as CX39 from HKG via DWC. (incidentally the first flight to Manchester from the new Dubai Airport).

If the EK18 had been delayed by just 20 minutes, 5 out of 4 of Manchester's largest regular visitors would have been on the ground at the same time (the VS 744 being the other and I don't even count the B77W operators).

Hi User001

Is that a first for Manchester then, "2 A340-600" on the ground at the same time?

Hi Aviador,

No, not the first time, but the first time was not that long ago. It was back when D-AIHB (the A340-600 currently in the hangar) came into MAN for the paint job, as D-AHW was still on the ground at the time it landed (pilots of 'HB took 'HW back to Munich).

Tonights Brussels Airlines nightstopper is A320 OO-SNC which is very rare north of London anyway, but also wears a special 'Belgian red devils' scheme.

Shame its here overnight rather than during daylight.

Very rare visitor due in tomorrow.

UAE Air Force A330 MRTT, registration 1300, will arrive at 0615, then depart again at 0845 on its way to the USA.

On the way back, it will call in on 24th Feb at 0900 and is down to depart 1000 on 25th.

February has been a good month, don't think Ive had so much to post in short space of time before.

Next up in the rare-r movements list is A7-BAP, B777-300ER which will operate the Qatar flight tomorrow. It has been in a few times before but the B777-300ER is still quite elusive on the Qatar flights.

3 visitors today.

D-AIHL A340-600 of Lufthansa arrived at 07:45, G-DHLH B767-300F arrived at 07:00 for MAEL and UAAF A330 MRTT reg 1302 arrived back from California for a nightstop.

Saudia are sending in 1 more B747F before the scheduled passenger flights begin in April.

SV994 A 0700 from AMS, departs 2100 to Taif.

Nice visitor in at the moment.

OE-LUX A318CJ arrived from Doha at 1000. No idea what it is in for or when it is departing again.

Further to the above, OE-LUX will depart Thursday at 1000. Still no idea why it is here.

Seems the UAEAF A330MRTT is going to be a regular at MAN. Another is due Friday at 1320, and departs Saturday at 1100. Coming back the other way it arrives Tuesday 18th at 0800 and departs at 1100.

Lastly, todays Lufthansa Cargo B777 is brand new D-ALFC.

UAE Air Force A330MRT reg 1301 passed through MAN again this morning, arriving at 0900 departing at 1100.

Aegean sent in 2 aircraft to night stop today, for the Olympiacos vs Man United match.
SX-DGE and SX-DVW arrived this afternoon and will depart later on tomorrow.

Lastly, Alitalia are sending an A320 to MAN as a charter tonight. AZ8691 will position in at 2210, and depart to Barcelona at 0745 tomorrow. It will then return tomorrow night. No idea who the flight is for.

Tuesday 26th will see Qatar Airways use the B787 once again to MAN. It will fly on the QR21/22 flight, which arrives at 0645.

Monday 31st March will see Lufthansa use an A340-300 as LH9205 from MUC carrying Bayern Munich for their match against Man United. It will stop until early doors on 2nd.

Lufthansa have also upgraded all Munich flights to the A321 on 1/2/8/9 March for the match, and also most of the FRA flights too.

There are more charters expected for the match, so will update when I know more.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
