Two people have been arrested. Fantastic. It was so important that the police got their catch to deter other idiots.

Lets hope that, if found guilty, the sentence is harsh enough to send a out real message to anyone else considering something similar.

Sir Raymond, Last civilian A310 perhaps?

Quite possibly, unless Mahan Air are planning a return, although I have just read reports that they are to be banned from operating into Germany.

Regards the Gatwick Two, it now depends upon the CPS and Police to come up with charges that reflect the seriousness of the crime. Then Magistrates decide, subject to the charges and Law, whether or not to escalate to Crown Court for trial.

Meanwhile politicians, journalism and us forum types must cease and desist from further comment. Once charges are laid it becomes subjudice. E@OE etc.

It must be a recent ban because I saw A Mahan Air Airbus A340 at Dusseldorf in September.

According to the guy arrested boss he was at work during the chaos and his wife has no inrest in drones and doesn't know how to fly them. According to a witness a guy and possibly a women in there 30''s were seen putting a drone away and then cycling away the people who the police have arrested are in there 40''s and 50''s.

Released without charge. I'd be a trifle pissed off to say the least at being held for 36 hours and having my details plastered all over the papers . Can only think the police acted on a tip off that a bloke down the road flies drones so therefore it Had to be him.

It appears as if there may have been some sort of systems failure at BHX with movements currently suspended.

A Lufthansa A320 from Frankfurt just left the hold and is heading south and a Jet2 and Thomas Cook both from Lanzarote are heading towards EMA. Air India looks as if it may be descending towards MAN.

Everything else is holding at the moment.

Lufthansa is now a 33,000' off the coast of Belgium so it looks as if it's heading back to Frankfurt.

Air India is at 19,000' and heading our way.

Kevin, aircraft hold whilst discussing, evaluating and coordinating alternates. Holding isn't only to wait for the airport. There is a multitude of other factors as to why aircraft hold. Especially in extreme circumstances such as this. They will also seek more information than the NOTAM from the relevant LACC controller whilst all of the BHX control is out. I wasn't meant to say the airport is closed until 22:30 but that is the advisory, however, this is not clear at all from how poorly I phrased my first comment, my apologies for that!

The Air India probably held whilst trying to get a slot at LHR which are never easy to come by! :D

Another Flybe, from DUS, looks to be heading towards EMA.

The airport say they hope to have the situation resolved by 22:00.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
