One more Ryanair holding to the north, Lufthansa and KLM holding to the east and another Lufthansa holding to the west. The two earlier Ryanairs are now on approach.

Me too, just as a couple land more join the hold. We've got Brussels Airlines along with more Flybe and Monarch all getting closer.

I'd have given an arm and a leg to be in Sheldon Country Park this afternoon if I'd known. It must have been like Heathrow in terms of the volume of landing traffic.

Possibility they was holding due to the C17 i saw going over the centre of Birmingham today, looked like it had come from or was going to BHX. Cant remember timings though so not sure.

Manchesters TK1995 TC-JSN diverted to BHX at 4pm this afternoon. The problem was CL601 N91KH had undercarriage problems, and had to do flyby on 05L to check if all was ok.

Yep, those storms have past through here a couple of hours since and they are vicious, though short lived.

I believe another squall line is moving south from Cheshire so Birmingham may get some disruption.

WeatherPro usually gives a good radar tracking and The Weather Channel site is useful with of course the dear old Met Office.

I could not miss the low approach from Small Planet inbound but off normal track from Paderborn. Over my roof in it's pretty colour scheme and The usual howl from a sudden descent to avoid weather so it has been a good day for aircraft with no airfields in site

Not sure but watching FR24 the movements are very slow. There is a queue for departure and they seem to be breaking off about every 5 mins to land, although there are a couple now starting approach so maybe things have cleared?

According to Luton followers on another forum, the diversions were partly down to some aircraft stands at LTN being put out of action on account of building works, meaning arrivals had to hold until enough flights had departed and enough stands made available for all of them. Unfortunately the departures were delayed by nearby thunderstorms, meaning aircraft had to divert.

Shows just how full up LTN is, the redevelopment work there can't be finished soon enough.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
