2 Albastar B738's both passed close to LBA minutes apart one to GLA and one to EDI. Also JAL 44 LHR - HND is routing north up the country and passed west of us instead of out over the North sea as usual.
 
Sikorsky S-92 G-MCGH(Coastguard 912A) made blind call on Leeds Approach at 0330, entering the zone at Eccup enroute to Otley area to carry out search operations in the Wharf valley. At 0500 he called to say he was routing down runway 14 and heading home to Humberside on completion of his duties.
 
Jal 44 is now regularly heard on my evening 'scanner time' routing up the country often passing just to the west en- route to Haneda. Being operated tonight by JA735J. Other than that it's quiet out there tonight.
 
Cessna Skyhawk G-ECGC carrying out numerous circuits over West Yorkshire, including my house. Anyone any idea what it’s up to, aerial photography perhaps?
 
Flying Westbound at 33000' & 1205 is Australian Air Force A.330MRTT A39-006(Ausi 494), out of Amsterdam.

In between this and the German A.400 mentioned above a Canadian Air Force C-17 flew directly overhead out of Prestwick heading Southeast.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.

Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
