Another unusual flight which I have noticed is this Royal Saudi Air Force - Lockheed C130H Hercules (C130) Reg: 1625 operating under the number RSF600

She is just on arrival into Blackpool of all places after heading just over Huddersfield, so technically flew overhead. FlightRadar only tracks her as far back as Athens, so I'm presuming she has come all the way from Saudi Arabia...?

Hi TOM

I think you'll find the Saudi C130 herc was inbound to BAe Warton not Blackpool.

Re: Aircraft Flying Overhead

Apologies, my mistake. I was just on my way out when I spotted it on FlightRadar, so was in a rush to get it posted

Re: Aircraft Flying Overhead

Did anyone pick up the E3 Sentry doing it's usual circling type thing over to the East on Friday?

No but thought I might have seen it today about 12.35 put flight radar on and there was nothing on there that had carried out the large arc to the east of LBA

Re: Aircraft Flying Overhead

Yes, you did see another one today. There must be some military exercises going on in the North Sea at present.

Thanks for that. I was going to ask but my question has been answered. So this is a regular occurrence then is it Bigman?

Not sure how regular it is but ive seen it a few times recently! There was also one of them airbus beluga things flying south of Leeds over the birstall/barley area yesterday can't remember the time though.

Re: Aircraft Flying Overhead

might be able to shed a bit of light on the E3 guys, the strange circling it does if over the city of York where i live (round the York area anyway) its part of a training exercise as far as i know, they place a device somewhere in the city and the E3 has to locate it, as far as i am aware the only reason why they pick York is because it is quite dense with all the building's being close together and we get no major air traffic so to speak, hope that helps explain it

Re: Aircraft Flying Overhead

emirates A380 coming in over Newcastle to manchester- thats a different way!

Re: Aircraft Flying Overhead

Fantastic view against the blue sky of A6 EDI through binoculars at about 12000ft but too high for my little camera I'm afraid

Re: Aircraft Flying Overhead

I've seen them a few times but mainly Paris - USA, and yes too high to photograph, although I reckon with a tripod my video camera might be able to get a decent few seconds, I'll have a go at some point.

I see it On its usual route as it comes off the east coast then just south of Leeds over the birstall/batley area at about 12,000ft. That's the 1st time I've ever seen it come down from Newcastle very strange way to come in.

Re: Aircraft Flying Overhead

Great day for overfflights. Just seen my first ever B747/800 series, namely G-GSSF of Global Supply heading across the pond.

Re: Aircraft Flying Overhead

I see the regular A332 operating the actual Newcastle service followed the A380.... is anyone aware of any ATC strikes/problems that might be causing this...?

Re: Aircraft Flying Overhead

Up here near Grassington we seem to a be on a regular route for air traffic in/out of NCL and regularly get LPL and MAN traffic that's heading to Norway etc - SAS come over regularly - so once I'd spotted the A380 over Newcastle I wasn't surprised to see it come over. Also Ryanair LPL to Tallinn seems to come this way but it was good to see something different to a bog standard 737 today!

Re: Aircraft Flying Overhead

I see the emirates a380 is out over the north sea and will be heading down from Newcastle over grassington area again 2nd day running now anybody no why?

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
