I've no idea where T.90 came from - I have just done a quick Wiki check and it is not early code for the Trident as you say - not even when it was on the drawing board - there was never any chance of missing one of those with it's 3 Spey engines rattling the windows !

Cheers DD

Also 8 to 10 years before i was going. Seems quite busy, suprising how many night flights there were.

Cheers, DD.

I'm intrigued as to how the Trident got the code 'T.90'?

Looking again at the lists, several aircraft types are given by 4 character codes. Today I believe that 3 characters are used. Is it possible that back in the '60's there were no official codes for the aircraft, so the airport just used ones they thought appropriate e.g. 'Brit' for Britannia?
I still can't work out 'T.90' for Trident though.

Yes and no hush kits on those engines - not surprised that the residents of Marston Green were vociferous in their opposition to any expansion at Elmdon.

You may be correct - it was a simpler time then - I didn't know any different !

Something else I never got to see, A BMA 707. Was Sobelair a Charter offshoot of Sabena?
Don't recall seeing a BMA F27 either, they were still using Dart Heralds. Was there for the inaugural NLM city hopper F27 flight though.

Well guys this will soon be more nostalgia at BHX as Lufthansa have confirmed when they will fly there last Boeing 737 into BHX and the details are as follows:
Frankfurt – Birmingham Last 737 flight on 08AUG16

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
