So NCL and ABZ are losing frequency on LHR this winter.
Lets hope LBA get a sniff then and not the likes of LPL, MME and maybe even CAX. Not worried whether BE or BA just as long as its someone on the route
Now don't be greedy, you have just got Bergen with Wideroe!oh we could do with an LHR link too at LPL
haha .ok....it's a long time didn't he diggers to start anyway . : -)Now don't be greedy, you have just got Bergen with Wideroe!

I think domestic travel within the UK is in a bit of a mess generally at the moment. There is certainly not a glut of new routes opening and indeed several are being cut and reduced. Most of the rail franchises are under performing and you only have to look at the East Coast Mainline going back into Government hands. Airport security measures, which are necessary, have clearly had an impact on the shorter domestic flights over the years. The whole transport infrastructure just isn't what it needs to be. Runway 3 at LHR and any future rail link from the North is a start but also still a long way off. I therefore wish Blackpool's potential new start up all the best because it ain't easy to get the numbers to add up in the long term - short term is easier. I also think airlines are all a bit blinkered and don't actually see potential when it's staring them in the face..........
Many times. If you are lucky enough to get an HST then it's not too bad, but if you cop for a packed 4 car 220 then you are stuffed (literally and metaphorically), especially when one turns up on an Aberdeen-Penzance.
Assuming the 3rd runway ever gets built in our lifetime, the HS2 infrastructure could be such that a direct rail link to LHR might actually be quicker point-to-point and cheaper than connecting by air, especially from Manchester and Leeds and probably Newcastle as well.
