I am hoping to try the BA service next month (connecing on to Oslo). Usually do the KLM route, but the timings on this one should make the BA work out, and I am keep to try it out!

I see that Lufthansa are going on strike for a few days. I wonder if we might pick up some extra punters on BA as a result??

I'm going LBA - ORD a week on Saturday. My last 2 BA flights from LBA (to JFK and DXB) were delayed and we only just made the connection - mainly down to a 40 minute flight and then 45 minutes stacked over LHR. So I'm hoping it'll be 3rd time lucky and the transfer is more relaxed. Thank god we go into T5 from LBA.

I don't suppose that's bad for the worst sector of the day. I notice some new advertisements have gone up on the airports own billboards advertising the BA Leeds to Heathrow service. It looks like LBA is the advert sponsor. It's good to see them throwing some weight behind the advertising campaign. Let's hope it pays off.

Looks like they have paid out some money as they have also put some big British Airways adds for the London Heathrow - Leeds/Bradford route on the side of First West Yorkshire double deck buses for the first time.

Flew down to LHR on the first flight Sunday morning, 78 pob, no stacking, flight time 40mins.
Came back on the late flight Wednesday evening, 102 pob, expecting to get diverted to MAN. I saw the lights as we came over the threshold at about 50ft, slammed down on the runway and applied "full" brakes. As we arrived at the gate the Captain came on to the tanoy and said "sorry about the hard landing, but it wasn't my fault. We have just done a fully automatic landing and the computer got it wrong"
I am afraid that they do not make much money out of me (Avios miles) but I hope they keep going.

hi seaside
thanks for posting the info on the lba-lhr flight its always welcome.

Tremendous southbound loads for last few and next few days.

Clearly it's the start of Easter and this is the reason but at least people are using it. I think the customer base is more leisure than business and this is because of the timings primarily.

Cabin Crew I speak to always say that the LBA passengers are lovely and I think this is because the majority are going on/returning from their holidays.

I am delighted that te operation survived this weeks fog. The lack of excessive tailwind on 32 enabled the guys to autoland on it with 200m RVR. Think it was close to 200m at times but seemed to work out.

Excellent performance on the route in difficult weather conditions. The reliability of the operation has been proven this week lets hope the bean counters are happy and give us the timetable we need and stop cancelling rotations.

Appreciate that this may not be news for some, but just read on Tony Hallwoods Twitter account that he is working very hard to get a 7 am departure to LHR with BA. Fingers crossed for that one. Would certainly help with all those european/ USA departures which occur mid-morning. Off topic but he also said that he is at Routes European Conference at the moment and trying to drum up new trade - if anyone can, he probably can!

Looking at the BA website, it looks like there is only 1 seat available on tomorrows 09:35 flight priced at £302! Incredible!
Maybe just maybe the 7am southbound may be more likely!

Maybe they shouldn't have cancelled tomorrow night's 3rd rotation so quickly back in January. Oh well as the saying goes, "You learn from you mistakes"

Got to admit myself and several other forum members on here watching Saturday afternoon's SHT1343 service depart from the South side (multiflight cafe) were surprised to see how much runway that A319 used for its take off run. "You could tell she was heavy with a good load"

We have just flown up to LBA on this evening's BA flight. I estimate about 80-90 were on board.

This mornings 'early' southbound is indeed full. In fact it's ever so slightly oversold and wasn't on sale at all on Saturday.

Was on yesterday's mid-afternoon southbound to LHR. Would estimate about 2/3 full (most rows had window and aisle seats taken on both sides). Good crew, on-time landing, short connection in LHR but was T5-T5 so pretty painless.

Maybe we could see an upgrade to an A320/21 ;) (wishful thinking I know!!) but hopefully the route is finally proving itself!!

Also looking at Saturday mornings LBA-LHR flight, it appears that there is only 3 seats available on that priced at £302 each!! Its good to see prices are not at the standard £50 and are more at £80-90 indicating that the seats are selling well.

I think we need to be mostly filling the A319s all the time rather think about filling the odd A320. It's been a good few days for the route, but we need to be seeing nearer these sort of loads all the time, rather than the exception.

KLM were also busy - the reason I ended up going BA yesterday was my usual LBA-AMS was full.

Good news indeed! Got a friend on Tuesday mornings southbound on her way to the States, anyone know how that one's looking?

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
