xboy999 - MJV will be dead in the water when Corvera opens (Murcia Regional Airport) - they will be eager for trade and I am sure Ryanair will oblige.

I visited the site at Corvera about 4 weeks ago. It still seems to be at a standstill. However, in September, Paramount studios announced Murcia as the location for their Disney World type theme park, now things are going to start moving fast.
Property prices are also forecast to rocket.The Corvera runway is said to be 10,000 feet long to attract intercontinental traffic.Golf tournements etc.For sure business will be taken away from Paris because of the better climate.

Summer 2010 began to be released around November 09 although LBA wasn't a base then of course.

However, the first version of the summer timetable often isn't the final one - by a long chalk.

For example, my local airport at Bristol had at least five different timetables published on the FR website between about November and February with the final one not bearing too much relationship to the first one.

Numerous routes were either axed, added, moved by day and/or time or number of weekly rotations altered.

The naughty thing was that each version of the timetable was replicated in the booking engine which means that some people must have booked flights that were eventually either axed or moved to a different time or day.

It looks like Ryanair has more expansion planned for LBA next summer 2011 and new routes will be most likley be announced on the 2nd of December.

I only say this date due to the fact that MOL is the headline speaker at this years Leeds, York and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce lunch in York on December 2nd 2010.

RYANAIR'S investment plans for Leeds Bradford International Airport will be on the agenda at a major business event.

SPEAKER: Ryanair boss Michael O’Leary

The airline's chief executive, Michael O'Leary, will be the headline speaker at the Leeds, York and North Yorkshire chamber of commerce lunch in York.

The event, sponsored by Barclays Business, will take place on December 2 at the Royal York Hotel.

Shaun Watts, president of York and North Yorkshire Chamber, said: "Michael O'Leary is hugely entertaining and a great entrepreneur.

Ryanair's investment in Leeds Bradford International Airport was a huge boost for the county and the economic benefits will be felt right across the region.

"This event is a chance to hear about the airline's plans and how they will impact upon businesses in Leeds, York and North Yorkshire."

Last year Ryanair, the low-cost Irish airline, revealed that it would invest £85m in LBIA, launching 14 new routes across Europe and catering for one million new passengers.

At that time Michael O'Leary claimed the move would create and sustain up to 1,000 jobs. He said: "We have come to Leeds because it is one of the airports that doesn't really have any of the low-cost airlines.

"If the airport can support three million passengers currently paying high fares then I don't think we will have a problem getting another one million at low fares."

The Leeds Bradford base was Ryanair's 11th in the UK and 34th in Europe. Its new routes included destinations in France, Portugal, Spain, Ireland, Malta, Poland and Italy.

Shaun Watts himself will speak at the lunch about business opportunities in the region and how the chamber is supporting its members.

The lunch takes place from noon to 3pm and is expected to be a sell-out. Tickets cost £35 plus VAT for chamber members and £45 plus VAT for non-members. Tables of 10 are available.

I hope you are right, although reading these articles, there is nothing to suggest further route expansion in 2011 as such. If we keep the new winter routes and get back what we had this year as summer only routes, that will equate to expansion anyway when comparing Summer 10 to Summer 11.

Now that would be telling wouldn’t it? You'll just have to wait and see like everyone else. But if what I’ve been told is correct LBA and its supporters are in for a nice surprise regarding ryanair.com's summer 2011 programme.

That all I’m going to say on the matter at the moment as things may or may not happen. So let the speculation begin!!

I would imagine LBAspotter knows no more than us. I can't see the PR might of Ryanair disclosing information to the likes of any of us here. I would say by the laws of probability there is a good chance that O'leary will use the occasion to announce new routes from LBA. I would say there is definitely room for at least one more aircraft on the ramp so any guesses on new destinations and out of interest were there any routes 'missed' off the LBA wish-list (posted on the Potential Routes thread)?

I am lead to belive that a press meeting will be held on December 2nd 2010 for around 10am.. The reason why is that MOL will be around at the airport at that time of day is due to the fact that the FR152 in due in from Dublin at around 9am..

As we know he is not due to York until 12 (Lunchtime) So thats 2 hours at LBA with the press and an a another hour travelling to York. Also he will be most likley going back to Dublin later that evening on the 20:00 FR157 service.

I looked at a Sunday in August and there are arrivals at 23:40 from Malta, 23:45 from Murcia and 23:55 from Malaga.

Already 4 'W' leg arrivals on for the same day, namely 12:35 Barcelona, 13:05 Dublin, 15:20 Faro and 18:55 Dublin.

Still loads of gaps to fill!!

If what they are saying on the other site is correct, then what's showing on the Ryanair website is a load of crap. Someone on there seems sure we are only getting 2 based aircraft and the timetables will be changing over the next few weeks.

If that's right, then presumably we have no substantial increase next summer.

They might well be right. It's most probable that the times will be shuffled around. TheLocalYokel has frequently commented about the airline constantly changing it's flight schedules . He says they tend to do this throughout the winter every year. Apparently it will get to about version 10 or 15 before it's set in stone. I wouldn't otherwise read to much from what they say on the other forum. Like I've already said, airlines aren't going to release flight schedules to people on forums. We can all make assumed guesses and one of us will be right eventually.

Well things are changing by the minute. As now Gdansk is on sale for next summer 2011 by ryanair and is to operated by a based B737-800.

Routes still not on sale for summer 2011 are which operated this summer are, Carcassonne & Gerona (Which has been replaced by Barcelona) and the Dusseldorf-weeze route which we dont know if its a winter only route or not.

I can't imagine that they will be dropping routes unless they are not performing. Carcassone is still operating now, so it would seem odd if they dropped it next summer, and the same with Venice. I think they are just releasing routes bit by bit, as Jet2 do. Previous announcements have always suggested an increase in routes next year to around 23 and it is just as likely that we will get a 3rd based aircraft as it is that there will be a sizeable increase in W rotations. I take no notice of any of the other forums to be honest - they are full of people who think they know, but don't. It is all speculation and we will all find out in due course. My view is that we could well get a 3rd based aircraft and if so there would be a sizeable increase in flights next summer. That seems to be how Ryanair operate at most of their bases and since they have proclaimed LBA as there most successful airport this year, it is difficult to imagine no expansion unless they are deterred by the terminal capacity problems.
