Does anyone know anyone who has interesting footage of BHX that hasn't been shared anywhere yet? I'd love to look at it and maybe put it on my YouTube channel, with full credit of course.

At this rate they may consider expanding MAEL before long.

A third bay is already under consideration and if they keep hoovering up contracts like they have been then it will certainly be needed.

The one thing that may scupper those plans is the Boeing hangar planned for Gatwick which may be more beneficial for the likes of Virgin and Norwegian.

An absolutely classy video summary Best of Birmingham Airport 2017 of nearly 2 hours has been posted by Ian Kirkpatrick. I recommend it highly - very nicely filmed and compiled.

At around 1h 32' there is an interesting sequence where a FlyBe on the apron is attended to by two fire engines and both Ian and the pilots inside seem they are trying to identify why they are there. Co-incidentally he pans outside the airport and shows a distant fire. Can anyone throw any light on either incident that day?

A review of Blue Air's flight to Cluj Napoca. Unfortunately it was a very negative experience due to an elderly aircraft (738 YR-BMH; one wonders how the even more ancient 734's compare!)

Another video from 'Paul's Trip Reports'. This time, from BHX to PRG on CSA Czech Airlines A319 (upgraded from economy to business class).

Other than praising the lounge 'No1 Lounge' as one of the best in the UK, little more is said of his transit through BHX. The trip on a whole, seemed very pleasant.

With the onboard Emirates cameras it can be a little off putting for nervous flyers if they are looking via the tail camera or flight deck camera to see the aircraft pointing well to the side of the runway immediately before landing. Then again, perhaps nervous passengers don't view the onboard cameras.

We experienced a landing with a strong crosswind with Emirates at Melbourne a few years ago and I found it fascinating to watch how the pilot brought the 380 around in line with the runway as we touched the ground.

Proves that despite all of human kind's advances in technology we cannot completely fight off the force of moving air (the same thing we breathe) against 575 tons aeroplane. It is like watching the worlds biggest ships being tossed around in a raging sea.

Certainly is. When we came back from MEL the last time our 380 was bouncing around the sky for 8 or 9 hours of the 13.5-hour MEL-DXB flight. There is often turbulence on the route but we've never experienced it to that degree for so long, with cabin staff strapped in for periods of the flight.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
