LBA Spotters

Does the guy with the souped up Fiat Panda with multiple ariels on it post on here? Spoke to him a couple of times.

How about this for a day out, I've just booked it for mid-September, should be a great plane and train bash!

Leeds Bradford Airport - Dublin with Ryanair for £21.
Dublin - Belfast on the express train 12 Euros advance web fare.
Belfast City - Leeds Bradford Airport £37 with FlyBE

I did it in the opposite direction a couple of years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it.


Apart from this I've done day returns to Amsterdam, London and Dublin before - has anyone else got any suggestions for days out like this from LBA that don't cost the earth?

Ive done LBA to Paris and back by train in fact im doing it.on 7th Sept. Unfortunately the Jet2 schedule for 2013 doesnt work well for this trip
Also did LBA to Amsterdam and train Amsterdam to Paris to London to Leeds in a day

Doing LBA - BGY on Ryanair and the return on Jet2, in 3 weeks time. It gives you 6 hours in BGY.

Not planning any LBA day trip out & returns just yet, but 4 of us are flying MAN to Frankfurt for a 3 day spotting trip in Sept. Booked the Lufthansa flight last December, £83 return.
TransPennine express Doncaster to Manchester airport Weds morning, 1/2 day in the viewing park at MAN, overnight at Premier Inn Man airport. 7am LH949 to FRA. Thurs / Fri / Sat morning spotting at FRA, staying at the airport Ibis hotel (free bus transfers). Decent cheap meals and good beer at the Ibis.
Return flight to MAN Sat morning, train up to Bury to watch 5 Deltics running on the East Lancs railway before We get the train back home.
This trip will prob tire me out for a week , but we went to FRA last year for a 2 day trip, & enjoyed it that much that we're doing it all again this year!.

I once did a brilliant day trip to Berlin from Leeds back in 1996. Air 2000 757, went to Potsdam, Check Point Charlie, and even stood under the Brandenburg Gates. A bit of shopping in the Christmas market and back home from Schoenefeld. Even got back to my local for last orders!! I miss those Transun day trips.
