Turkish have 11 Max8 and 1 Max9 so there should be little disruption; perhaps we might see a standard 737 or A321 operate a delayed flight later this evening or one of tomorrow’s flights might be upgraded. That’s the beauty of TKs fleet, they can’t pretty much send what they want when they want.
A330 tomorrowWith the ban placed upon the MAX, will TUI and others be consolidating flights with larger equipment to return booked passengers? Some interesting leases possible? Turkish may deploy A330 perhaps or B739?
Like to know how the crew explained that to the passengers. How do you say we are turning back because the aircraft you are flyingDue to the CAA decision on the 737 MAX8 today's Turkish Airlines flight turned around overhead Germany and headed back to Istanbul. The aircraft was TC-LCD.

in is considered by the UK authorities to be unsafe. Tough one.
I suppose they didn't want to alarm the passengers.saw a clip on the news, and they spoke to a passenger on one of the flights that returned to Istanbul, the pilot said that 'UK airspace was closed", and then said "due to bad weather!"

It seems as if all of the MAX variants have now been grounded.
The Turkish website still shows 14x weekly but it also shows the afternoon flight as a MAX9 from May, so I guess it's just a wait and see.
