When do Turkish go twice daily? I know it was put back a bit, but with all the Indian issues recently I would think they ( also Qatar ) are doing well to Birmingham

Correct Nethercote2019 there are few cancellations at MAN as well but at present only about
6 cancellations showing in June but I think some upgrades

I have been randomly searching for Turkish Airlines flights and according to the website, they will be flying an Airbus A330-200 as TK1970 on August 22nd.

Would love to see Turkish upgrade from regular 737’s and a321’s to regular A330’s considering Istanbul is quite a popular route from BHX and not forgetting the amount of people that also use Turkish Airlines for connections to The Far East. I know they do send the A330’s from time to time but they should make it permeant also with how well they have been doing from BHX. If Heathrow can get daily 777’s and A330’s from them so can we ;)

Quite a long way to go from B738 to A332, when you get to about 20-22X monthly you may see a few unless the 737MAX situation takes
much longer to sort

I would also like to see the A330 more at BHX too due to its popularity.
However I don't think permanent A330s would work for BHX, as the majority of the time, would be too much capacity and there would be several empty seats.
Realistically speaking, I would much prefer the A321 series to be permanent with occasional A330s.

Rather a full 738 than a half empty 330 but such is the strength of the east bound market I do not think it long before we have plenty of full capacity in that direction.
I suppose you guys are right. It’s horrible sitting on a plane that is half empty you would rather a plane completely full. But I would be nice to have a regular A330 at BHX something I feel would liven up the Airport a bit :giggle:

But a few years ago, you all would have said the same about the Emirates DXB route. Starting on a 5x weekly 330, it’s now ballooned to 2x 380s!! Yes, growth has to be sustainable, but also constant. Never say never!
I totally agree yes and one day we may get a permeant Turkish Airlines A330 coming to Birmingham and I think demand will be there as Holidays to Istanbul and the rest of Turkey are indeed already at Birmingham not only that Turkish Airlines are just as much used for connections to and from BHX to the Middle East, South Asia and The Far East as much as Emirates, KLM, Lufthansa ect... are. You are right if we can get Double Daily A380’s be it full or not full we should be able to get a and believe we can get a daily A330 or 2 form them. But for now I think an Upgrade To Daily A321’s would be nice.

A few points DRDey Istanbul is not a holiday destination except for city breaks as it is a long way from the beach resorts,
but it is a like Dubai a connections airport as you say. At present they need to grow the route by about 25% to get it on course
for A321 on at least one of the flights.
Out of interest tomorrow the Pegasus flights start into Manchester daily tomorrow with a mix of B738/A320 to Sabina Gokcen airport
which is in Asia rather than Europe for the new airport

Thanks for that Mullion although possibly on the wrong thread never mind the wrong airport.
Can we have a new thread on the BHX site. Mullions Manchester Updates?

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
