What’s happening with Turkish? Have noticed a few of the days now when there should be three flights there have been only two with the new lunchtime service operating over the late afternoon flight?

Afternoon flight canx today !
Really strange as flights are well loaded, so not sure where the pax are going when canx ?

I suspect the Pegasus flights are taking passengers away from Turkish Airlines due to the pricing strategy of both airlines?

example below is the fares from Birmingham to Istanbul on the 22nd August.

unless you are connecting onto another Turkish Airlines flight, most passengers would book the cheaper option with Pegasus, and save £100!

I’d imagine the majority of passengers are transferring on with TK rather than terminating in Istanbul. The actual numbers would be interesting to read.

I really don`t think Pegasus working with Turkish AL as they are competition and both airports are miles apart with IST in Europe and SAW in Asia

If i am reading that graphic correctly the Pegasus basic fare doesn’t include hold luggage. I’d have been interested to see how they compare once hold luggage is added.

Unfortunately the website is taking too long to load for me to compare them.

Be interesting to see if they will do 18 weekly this winter. At the moment it’s B737 Max 9 for both morning and Afternoon flights. We need a third Daily flight in my opinion

Looks as if the expected loads are not wonderful otherwise they would have gone for A321 or at least a mix

Turkish I’ve noticed have a lot of changes to its aircraft.
This winter it’s supposed to be 737 maxes and A321/neos

They look to be changing this every week or so.

Demand must be really excellent.Im guessing demand is from Pakistan mainly UAE aswell

Some surprising destinations for connections

Whilst it was widely touted that TK operated BHX-IST 18x weekly this year and did put 18x weekly flights on sale, they actually only operated 17x weekly. Regardless, great to see them plan to increase further to 3x daily now...

Be interesting to see how/if Pegasus responds... to think even now we have will have 28x weekly flights or 4x daily flights between Birmingham and Istanbul in summer 2026 is impressive... in 2017 there was only 7x weekly flights!

Bhx has a massive connection with TK with previous events at the belfry Villa park bhx headquarters diamond house.
Can see them adding another route if PC don’t bother

you have lost me on that one Ant? are you talking about events sponsored by Turkish Airllines in Birmingham? how is that a massive connection?

I can't really see Turkish adding any more destinations from Birmingham, Istanbul is their hub, do they fly to Heathrow or Manchester from other Turkish cities?

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
