It would appear the 4th daily rotation is indeed short term. No longer showing on KLM booking site after 27th Oct, including summer 24 schedule.
That will be because the Courts in Holland have approved the Dutch Governments desire to restrict movements at AMS by 12%, ban private jets, and introduce a night closure. This commences at the end if this year and in to 2024. KLM/Air France have already said that they will have to change their strategy to maintain their market share, which very much sounds like a promise to shift some ops out of AMS and in to CDG.

Let's hope such a shift brings about an Air France presence out of Leeds to compensate for the loss of capacity on the AMS route.

Banning domestic flying is one thing when there is a good domestic rail service which France has. However internationally, and from the north of the UK, Eurostar doesn’t really come into play as a sensible alternative. Back to KLM though, what they will have to decide is whether to continue to feed from most UK regionals or concentrate on the better performers and that is where I would expect LBA to be perfectly safe. It could be somewhere like MME and HUY that suffer. All pure speculation at this point though

Depends on the profitability of the individual routes but I'm sure the case could be argued for using bigger aircraft with more seats at bigger airports and downsize regionals like LBA. I wouldn't just assume LBA is safe.

But equally they could increase aircraft size at Regionals like LBA with maybe one flight less. Remember these feeder services are crucial in filling their long haul flights. It's their entire business model. If the stop feeder services, people wil find alternatives avoiding AMS.

No reason why KLM couldn’t open a base, cost permitting, and move some long haul operations to Eindhoven, the second biggest airport in the Nederland with 6.2m passengers and a 9842ft runway to ease restrictions and movements at Schiphol. Easy to get to linked on the Dutch motorway network and could make a useful route for them out of LBA as Ryanair have a success operation out of Edinburgh, Stansted, Manchester to the airport.

The Royal Schiphol Group which owns Amsterdam airport and whose majority shareholder is the Dutch Government has a majority stake in Eindhoven airport so the same restrictions could well apply there if KLM attempt to transfer part of their operations.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
