After doing a bit of research regarding the E series landing capabilities it seems the older series come as standard with CAT 2, but CAT3 capability is optional. The newer E2 series (KLM operates the 195-E2) comes with CAT 3 capability as standard.
But typically, it's the E2 series I believe that is suffering the same engine issues as the Airbus NEOs with P&W engines? So a lot will be grounded for inspection and repairs either now, or soon.

But the customer having to connect in AMS too wherever they are going don't know or care about CAT2 or CAT3 capabilities or engine issues, they just want to get from A to B to C.

Intersting - we are head of Glasgow and Bristol in terms of frequency of flights yet Glasgow probably is further ahead in terms of capacity.

We really need a 737-800/900 daily visit I think it'll do KLM good and the world of good for the airport. There is a lot of O/D demand between Leeds and Amsterdam that can be tapped into.

Mind you their globalist government (well not now thank god) are doing all they can to hamper aviation sector all in the name of some made up crap called ******* ******. Be interesting to see the direction they head in and therefore what good news, as it ultimately will be, that brings for Leeds.

Good points. My main concern currently is that they should stop eroding customer confidence and start operating all the flights they schedule.

I have to agree that providing a reliable schedule, whatever the aircraft, needs to be the priority. I've used KLM much less since a year or two before Covid (used to be gold card holder) and I can’t recall a single trip in past 5 years which has gone to plan, usually some long delay and on a couple of occasions overnight delays and/or changes of airport. I am aware that Schiphol airport can be problematic, as can LBA, especially in inclement weather, which isn’t KLM’s fault, but, together, the risk of a disrupted journey is now at a level which makes it difficult to embark on a journey with KLM with confidence. My wife‘s recent experience with KLM on a trip via AMS has made her determined not to use that airline again ( long delay, uncertainty about realising connection, baggage lost both directions). Don’t do long haul that much, but recent journeys made with Lufthansa and Swissair, all went without hitch, but of course sadly not from LBA. Look forward to the time when Lufthansa group might recognise the potential at LBA.

If the weathers not flyable, then fair enough, but these days and especially since the increase in the number of daily flights we seem to be getting random cancellations for no apparent reason.

The night stopping KLM i feel should be a B737-800/900 as im guessing the early morn flight and late inbound would be the most in demand (if anyone can confirm this) or the morning inbound a 737 due to typical LBA weather!
Just the presence of a 737 mainline would im sure sell more seats.

Are you sure? WH said that when planning for airbridges, KLM were the only airline who wished to use them. It’s a bit of a leap to say that means they require them
They are the only airline who will use them by choice and pay to do so . Perhaps that clarifies? Others will use the airbridge if they have to, (eg Jet2, but not Ryanair). Whether they pay to do so is another matter.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
