Let's remember it's only on the LBA-AMS route that they are expensive, for onward destinations they are competitive.Looks like MAN also to get KLMs new A21N on one of their daily rotations from the end of October. We really need competition for them on AMS to wake them back up because until we have that they can do what they want at LBA. Is the reduction in capacity them saying to LBA be careful what you agree to with U2 I wonder?
Oh thats a blow Aviador...I was just about to ask him how many flights departed this morning from his beloved Doncaster........oh hang on a minuteThe user in question has revisited since this morning and hasn't made any attempt to correct himself. So for that reason he has been given some temporary leave from the forum. Hopefully enough time for the soap to work as he washes his mouth out.
SAS is now a Skyteam member.Problems at AMS/KLM continue, albeit with ramifications all over the place. I have just booked LBA/OSL and return for late October, and one of the AMS/OSL legs is with SAS and an A320NEO, as opposed to the normal KLM 737. Posh! Seriously there are continuing problems with Norwegian this morning with staff cuts appearing to be on the cards. How about KLM taking SAS and NA into their fold? Just a thought.
?SAS is now a Skyteam member.
No only recently. They were part of Star Alliance previously.?
They have been part of Skyteam for a long time.
No definitely Skyteam, sorry. No only recently. They were part of Star Alliance previously.
That's KLM. Its SAS ( Scandinavian Airlines) that's recently joined Skyteam. No definitely Skyteam, sorry.
This was from back in 2016
To illustrate the point my friend flew from Teesside earlier this week, T3 was an hour late and connection to IAD was missed. Rerouted via CDG but bags didnt make it.Not strictly LBA related but we should thank our lucky stars that we do not have T3 equipment on our AMS service! My friend flew from NCL to BCN yesterday via AMS, he used the 13.45 which I think subsequently became T3. It's the MME based E190 that uses its 'spare' time to do a NCL run out of AMS. Looking at the track record it's been on time once maybe twice in the last week (not helpful on a connecting trunk route) and true to form yesterday it landed 20 minutes late. My friend made his connection but his bags did not! I did say I felt he was a bit crazy doing a 45 min connection even if it was KL as they are not perfect!
He said on board the service was as you would get from KL (same wine etc) with T3 crew and the Holland Herald was in the seat pocket! Moral of the story is if its T3 think carefully about connecting times in AMS and dont cut it too fine!
