Yes I have no noticed that too. Lots on local radio too, apart from the aircraft pic! Really great timing ahead of going 4 daily during the week and the larger E2's appearing more regularly. Yet another route doing really well
Its a real turn of events for KLM at LBA, now a decent schedule on larger E2s under the KLM brand! A few b737 mainlines would be nice too!

Well, I live in East Yorkshire and I have been getting the ads to fly from LBA.
Living in Brough we can get both the transmissions from Leeds (Emley Moor) and Hull (Belmont). Tend to watch the Leeds version having been born there which does give us the LBA advert but if we switch to the Belmont transmitter then the KLM advert is targeted to Humberside Airport.

Nice place Brough. I was playing golf there on Monday.

This afternoon's AMS rotation is cancelled which will be down to Storm Benjamin in The Netherlands. Also FR24 showing no night stopper tonight. Has this been planned a while or is it again storm related?
So where IS Storm Benjamin? No gales yet. No rain since the sun came up. In fact a nice day. Nothing like was forecast by Paul the Weatherman on Look North. Has it changed track and missed us or is it just late?

There are low pressure centres north west and south east of the U.K. hence we are getting northerly winds (due to the cyclonic low pressure in the South East) and there’s chill in the air. The storm will therefore be impacting Amsterdam with high winds due to this and we will no doubt get some of this too. Wind is picking up here.

@White Heather was that a misread of my post or just a genuine observation that the weather folk seem to have got it wrong ISH? The worst was forecast to be West, South and East of us this time around

Just the weather folk have it wrong. The weather maps had Leeds within the yellow wind and rain area last night. Wind gusts of 50 mph were shown. It was, as you say, worse further East with gusts up to 70mph on the East coast. I had a guy booked to do work outside at my Mums house snd he cancelled due to the forecast, but in the end it's not rained at all and its nothing but a breeze, so he cancelled for nothing.

At least its saved the press the trouble of going to LBA to video or photograph aircraft 'struggling to land at Leeds Bradford ' or the many on line posters, eager to express their knowledge that LBA is the highest airport, with a short runway, and also saves them telling us how many bad landings they've had and somehow lived to tell the tale.

At the risk of derailing the thread, it’s still tricky to precisely forecast where exactly the weather is going to hit in the absence of a nice high pressure day. There’s lots of low pressure around at the moment, and the jetstream is south of the U.K. which typically means rubbish weather. Airports have TAFs released a couple of times a day, these are then followed up with METARS usually every 30 minutes or so. BBC weather forecasters don’t need to go into such detail so they’ll just look at the charts and report on their most likely scenarios that are typically quite long range. My BBC weather app had changed since this morning.

In this instance it’s more likely that the weather in AMS has caused the issues, and looking at the charts it does look like they’ve got some nasty weather which includes high winds and heavy rain.

Yes, I would imagine Storm Benjamin carried straight on along the English Channel towards Belgium and Holland instead of shifting North as they were expecting last night. No doubt the KLM cancellations are due to the goings on at AMS and not here.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
