Just a little update about what services me and my friends are currently using this year:

Me and x6 of us have recently flown to Alicante, outbound with Jet2 and return with Monarch - Excellent flights

My brother and x9 friends flew to Amsterdam with Jet2 on Friday and returned yesterday morning

x3 of my friends have used Jet2's Ibiza service this morning

My Grandparents are booked on Monarch's Faro flight tomorrow morning

x4 of my friends are going to Palma on the 2nd July with Jet2

My Brother flies out on Jet2's Zante service with x3 friends on the 15th July

5 weeks time another friend and 5 others fly to Ibiza on Ryanair

And mid August x3 friends fly to Palma - outbound with Ryanair and return with Monarch

I find it very encouraging that so many of my friends have booked to fly from LBA supporting services and airlines flying from there and not going over the hill to Manchester or even down to East Midlands.

I think so many have chosen LBA because they asked me to look for them and as I am biased towards LBA, I tried as much as I could to persuade them to fly LBA

Anybody else flying out of LBA soon? or have any holidays planned for summer?

After the event I know but I have just returned from Tenerife, flying Jet2 both ways. £295 return (for just me) including booked seats and hold luggage, which was more than I expected but not enough to put me off. Besides, at the time I booked Monarch were still 'under review' so not an option. It was Jet2 or nothing from LBA as it had to be a Friday flight. On the plus side, the flights were excellent as usual and, I booked a hire car through Jet2 and got a real bargain - virtually new VW Polo Bluemotion for 2 weeks, for 89 Euros - around £70. A hire car for £35 a week in any language is a great deal - and it was a good quality car with very low mileage.

Malaga next month, out with Jet 2, back with Ryanair, Alicante in September, also out with Jet2 and returning Ryanair, this was the cheapest option

I flew to Dublin this morning with EI. 58 pax on board with at least 20 going to the flight connection area when we reached the terminal.

Flew back into LBA this evening with EI and we had 64+1 onboard. Excellent loads for midweek flights. Flight only took 45mins as we had a strong tailwind.

Just booked my mum and dad on Monarch's ALC service on the 26th July to the 30th.

Just booked BA to Stockholm from LBA for next month. I know, seems a long way round but only £70 return using Avios points.

Tenerife again in November with monarch.

Ryanair were actually slightly cheaper but I prefer monarch and don't like the way ryanair cancel easily in the poor weather winter months.

Jer2 were extortionate on the dates I looked at so wasn't going to bother with them...

LS257 on 26th July to PMI and we had 148+2 onboard. Returning on 31st July with a full house on G-LSAH on LS258.

Just booked me and x6 others on Monarch's Alicante service on the 10th September and returning with Jet2 on the 13th September, sadly the Jet2 is a 737-8 and not a 757!!

Just booked for Tenerife for my daughter and her friend for October with Ryan Air. Its a shame you cant print off your boarding tickets if you are going for a fortnight unless you pay extra to sit together.

Nothing too exciting, but booked a one way up to Leeds from Heathrow in November as have a meeting at the Airport and live in West London. Most likely take the train back though as my office is close to Kings X .

hi all
my brother-in-law and family have just booked 2wks for next august with sunmaster from LBA using the new monarch malaga flights.
regards
sm1 :good:

After not flying for a while, I was using KLMs mid-morning E190 yesterday - busy but not totally rammed.

Decent service, and the removal of the Schegen-side entry security check at Schipol has improved transferring there at least going out. Still get passport control, but there's no security re-scan after it.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
