An Iraqi company called 'Elaf Securities' have put on their twitter account that Iraqi Airway will start MAN-Baghdad in March 2015.

It seems a reputable company, and, looking at their website, don't normally post aviation news, so, they have no reason to make the MAN-Baghdad news up.

Will be interesting to see if this comes off, as MAN has had Erbil flights in the past that were well used, but, left to dodgy companies.

Apparently MAN-Charlotte will be returning in 2016.

It will be run on a widebodied aircraft, as apparently the B757 was 'useless' on the MAN-CLT route due to its inability to carry cargo.

Correndon Airlines will run MAN-Antalya this year:

CAI735 AYT 1545 MAN 1825
CAI736 MAN 1920 AYT 0140

Sundays July 23rd to Sept 19th on B737-800

An airline not often talked about, Auriginy Airlines will increase MAN flights from 14 to 17 weekly this summer, with 3 daily flights on Mon, Sat and Sun.

Manchester will be getting a Turkish invasion this summer.

Tailwind Airlines are the next to announce MAN flights, this time to Ercan:

TWI197 ECN 0700 MAN 1135
TWI MAN 1235 ECN 2050

Wednesdays B737-800.

This means MAN will see (Turkish operator wise):

Turkish Airlines, 3 daily Istanbul, mix of A319/A321/A330/A340/B737-800/B737-900.
Pegasus Airlines, 2 weekly Dalaman B737-800.
Tailwind, 1 weekly Ercan, B737-800.
Freebird, 1 weekly Izmir, 1 weekly Antalya, 2 weekly Dalaman. A320
Corendon, 1 weekly Antalya B737-800
Onur Air, 2 weekly Dalaman, A321.

Not a bad offering!

Apparently there is a quote from Alan Joyce of Qantas, made on friday that he stated they wish to open up routes to Manchester and Amsterdam.

Could be a way of expanding EK/QF capacity at MAN without dumping a huge B777 on the market (ei use the B787 tht they have on order)

Rumours that Singapore Airlines may be about to swap Moscow for Manchester for the en-route stop to Houston.

Flight would run SIN-MAN-IAH. SQ do hold the rights to serve MAN-USA.

Would this be in addition to or replace the daily SQ327/328 SIN-MUC-MAN-MUC-SIN?

Airlines are now starting to load winter flights into the schedules.

Increases listed are based the upcoming winter vs last winter

Turkish to Istanbul will be 18 weekly versus 14 weekly (increase)
Iberia Express to Madrid will be 3 weekly into the winter (new)
Vueling to Barcelona will be 2 weekly into the winter (new)
Ryanair increase Madrid to daily versus 5 weekly, Lisbon 5 weekly versus 4 weekly
Easyjet increase Belfast, Berlin, Prague, Amsterdam, Copenhagen and Oporto.
Icelandair to Keflvik from 3 to 5 weekly

More to come in time no doubt.

Its been reported that 2 airlines are in talks for routes from Manchester. One of them is Air India which now is reported to be nearly confirmed 4x weekly from DEL, But you know them it takes time. The other is a mystery which nobody will say the airline involved in talks . But people are saying Air Asia x which have said hope to start flights to Europe this year. All i can say is watch this space

Second airlines is definitely a Chinese one I confidently feel air Asia will not come to Manchester any time soon but Hainan or possibly another airlines will..
Let's wait and see..... :whiteflag:

Why do you "confidently" feel Air Asia will not come to Manchester?

It was reported here on Forums4airports that officials from Air Asia were seen walking around the airport. If true, this wouldn't normally happen until the final stages of negotiations or until a route launch is almost imminent.

I'd say Air Asia was a very strong possibility.

They have said they will serve the UK with a feeder airline and also that they will stay away from traditional hubs. If we assume that Flybe will be that feeder airline then MAN and BHX are really the only two options. With the charges the way they are there is no chance they will ever come to BHX whereas MAN seems to be able to give great deals to make things work.

Air India's deal at BHX is approaching the two year mark when it's thought the incentives run out, word is MAN have come in with an offer that BHX either can't or won't match, hence the move.

I know its five months off yet,There are Some Turkish Airlines upgrades bookable on TK1993 in october.
A330-200 7th Oct
A330-300 8th and 9th Oct
There will be some more so will update

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
