Tonights EK037 is now expected at 0830 tomorrow morning, tomorrows EK041/42 is now cancelled....wonder if both flights will be operated on an A380?

I'd say it's unlikely to see an extra A380. There will be a lot of destinations affected so they will probably just keep the situation as is to save destabilising any schedules further by operating many aircraft swaps.

I completely agree. In addition to User001's comments, consideration must be given to Emirates' fleet and crew status.
Apparently, many aircraft inbound to Dubai at the time were diverted to other airports. This will have resulted in many aircraft being at the wrong location.

On top of this, further disruption will have come from -

Delays to aircraft returning to Dubai from worldwide destinations.

Crew out of hours (both at diversion airports, those returning ((delayed)) to Dubai and those delayed at Emirates destinations).

Positioning flights to return diverted aircraft to Dubai.

Extra crew to operate said positioning flights.

I'm sure that there are many other factors, but this will cause Emirates a huge headache for several days.
The chance that Emirates will find a spare A380, a fresh crew and choose to operate it to BHX is basically nil.

I'd like to finish in congratulating the crew in evacuating the aircraft with no fatalities.
I would further wish to express my condolences to the family of the Firefighter who gave his life in his line of duty, to ensure the safety of others.

Regards

Kevin

Emirates A380 today is A6-EET in AC Milan football team livery. 3-class aircraft have been operating the flight for at least 10 days in a row now!

Norwegian are using a Titan A320 on their Madrid flight (G-POWK)

PIA is AP-BGL and Qatar is A7-BCF.

Todays movements...

American - N188AN
United - N19136
Turkish (am) - TC-JVE
Turkmenistan - EZ-A014
Emirates - A6-EEM
Qatar - A7-BCO
Air India - VT-ANQ
Czech Airlines - OK-MEK

A nice afternoon for the photographers with the Retro PIA 777 (AP-BMG) and Air India Star Alliance 787 (VT-ANU) both due.

Icelandair is TF-FIJ
Emirates midday is A6-EOP

Tomorrow's Norwegian A332 looks as if it will be CS-TQW, which is Madrid based at the moment.

Retro PIA 772 AP-BMG is currently in.
Bulgaria Air 733 LZ-BOT due soon from Bucharest.
Air Malta will be 9H-AEN.

Today's Vueling from Tenerife (VY7428) turned back and diverted to Arrecife. It then flew ACE-BHX as VY742D landing at 12:27. It's now on it's way back to TFS.

Tomorrow's United is showing as N14120 which is in the Star Alliance Livery.

I'm assuming that A6-EUD is still in?

I am also curious as to the necessity of the Air Tanker A330 currently unemployed at BHX.

I suggest a theory that it is here for configuration to the Civilian registry for lease to an operator as yet undisclosed. The Monarch facility equally suggests this theory.

I also theorize that it could be based at BHX for military personnel transport thus leaving Brize Norton to use MRTT unhindered with personnel transportation.

The current weekly paderborn service may be a proving exercise for future deployments of personnel.

No doubt I shall be proven incorrect but it is nice to dream if BHX a Military capable facility.

The Air Tanker A330 did some flying for Transavia over the weekend, yesterday it operated BHX-TFS-BHX on behalf of Thomas Cook and today it's back flying for Transavia again, currently doing ORY-LIS.

Your knowledge of these matters worry me. In the nicest way you understand!!!

I could never have the skills that you have but I am grateful for your information.

I remain curious however as to why an asset such as this is doing what appears to be a hoc services!!

All info found by a quick Google search without which I wouldn't have known :)

I saw it depart earlier and wondered where it was off to, so had a look when I got home.

Thank you my Liege, keywords?

I do not seek to usurp you in your activities, I welcome your announcements. I have not the patience to delve as deeply as yourself and other noble members.

Thank you once more.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
