Ryanair have added 2 extra flights in October on Tuesday 28/10/25 and Thursday 30/10/25. That means in that week Dublin will be daily.
Info from Cardiff Airport Flights and Deals on Facebook.
Looks like there’s an extra date to Malaga on the 28th of October too? I’m pretty sure that wasn’t there previously.

Yep it's for half term
They’re going to need more than that to serve the whole of half term! Here’s hoping eh…

I was wishfully thinking that was going to be the start of a twice weekly winter schedule 😆

Although unlikely I wouldn’t rule it out.

Would Malaga be classed as a new route would you think or just an extension because if the latter then I'd have thought it would be onsale by now. Still time for a new route though.

CWL could do with Faro and Malta during the winter with Ryanair.
Malaga may end up too saturated.

A two weekly Malaga service would be a good boost for the winter, but if Vueling are operating it as well it could be a bit too much capacity. Incidentally Vueling are having an advertising a lot on Facebook and elsewhere at the moment, with big reductions on many routes including CWL to Malaga for 27 euros.

Well they tried Faro and i believe it diluted their Bristol flights too much, hence why they cut it for the winter. It would be nice to see Malta back.

The problem is though if CWL is to persuade Ryanair to open a base routes like Malaga in the winter will be needed to be operated by them as the base will need to be sustainable all year round and Ryanair are the only realistic option for a low cost airline base at CWL.
If CWL is to ever get back to 1.6 million passenger let alone 2 million it'll need a large Ryanair operation in both summer and winter.

I see the FR fleet transport CL350 M-ABSU, was visiting from Prestwick this afternoon, no FR flights in CWL at the time, perhaps just a training jaunt.

I believe this is the new jet doing training which has happened a few times before with Ryanair's other maintenance jets as well.

I’m probably wrong, but them running routes like Alicante at 3 weekly this winter could be them testing the water.

I know TUI are charter, but given how well they do and the rise of package holiday companies like On the beach and Love Holidays I would think a 2 aircraft base would work well.

In terms of diluting their Bristol opts, the other way to look at it is that Welsh Easy Jet passengers could be won over due to the proximity of CWL

I'd hope so. If Alicante does well especially with competition it may help convince them a base will be viable. Even if a base isn't on the cards then more non based flights will be needed all year round.

That will be the main target for Ryanair and maybe now even some Jet2 passengers but they'll not want to dilute their BRS flights to achieve it especially if the CWL flights aren't full which i believe at time the Faro flights weren't.

I think the overhang from the pandemic probably didn’t help there.
Could be a factor also. Hopefully we'll see Ryanair bring it back or maybe even Malta. For the summer Barcelona would be a great add.

It looks like Dublin may go 6 weekly for Winter 2025-26. It's been posted elsewhere that there's a morning flight loaded but not onsale on Thursdays. This does come up on the app.
If so that would see 10 weekly departures for winter 2025-26 from Ryanair assuming they don't add more that would be 100% growth compared to last winter.
Fingers crossed though we'll see more from them. If CWL could get Ryanair up to 12 weekly for the winter period I think that would be a great achievement!

A couple more from FR would be great for the winter, and the winter 2nd aircraft from TUI, together with 9 787 flights would make it the best winter for many years.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
LBA: B737-300 G-GDFK empty down to Paris at 16:15 to operate the return LS268 back to Leeds 20:00 ETA where it will then operate the delayed LS265 to Malaga 20:40ETD
LBA: Albastar B737-800 EC-MUB positioning in tommorow afternoon from Gatwick 15:45 to operate a charter to Lourdes/Tarbes on Friday afternoon 14:00 AP7721 STC
I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
