London will mostly get what it wants and with all plans being given the green light at the moment, I'd say it's a given that LGW will reach 50 million before other airports in the UKGuess LGW will have to get the 2nd runway to get there or it could get very interesting whereas MAN has the runway but parking could be interesting
EDI increasing rapidly and MAN a pale shadow of where it was 10 years ago.and at this point we remember that MAN has more passenger on US routes.
2024: EDI 539724 MAN 932079
On what basis do you make these statements?.Unfortunately, Birmingham Airport is never going to be handling anymore than 15 million passengers, because it's not an airport that attracts what it should, but what it can only get, to what ever deals and incentives it can offer. Also, Birmingham airport will never again have any direct flights to North America or elsewhere.

What BHX needs is a serious revamp and expansion of check in/security experience, we can forget any hopes of US carriers they will be straight out the door when crew get stuck in the lifts.

Hi there IanFarquharson, if I'm talking a load of rubbish that you imply, so which airline that serves Birmingham airport, is going to provide the extra one million plus passengers a year up to 31.03.2030, that will achieve 18 million passengers.
18m by 2030 are the airports own predictions, they know where the pax are coming from as they are talking to current and new airlines all the time.Hi there IanFarquharson, if I'm talking a load of rubbish that you imply, so which airline that serves Birmingham airport, is going to provide the extra one million plus passengers a year up to 31.03.2030, that will achieve 18 million passengers.

To put this into context an additional based aircraft adds between 275,000 to 300,000 seats per annum.
An extra daily Emirates 777 would add 310,000 seats per annum or an additional Qatar 788 would add 185,000 seats per annum.
The above is not factoring in new airlines starting in the next few years.
You will see that adding an additional 1m pax per annum is quite easy.
