The easyJet service caters for the whole of Northern Ireland and some parts of the Republic, so is not entirely dependent in the Belfast traffic. We can be sure LBA will want to keep them longer term. It will be interesting to know what their loads are like. For many, easyJet will be their preferred airline for flying to NI, if only because they operate nice new jets rather than aircraft that are perceived by some to be old because they happen to have props on each engine!BA CityFlyer weren't even thought off in my post as knew they are looking after the route for IAG until Aer Lingus regional (Emerald UK) start up ops.
Flybe with a few Dash 8's daily to City should be ok against 2x daily Aer Lingus ATR72's as we know the is demand for the route. But it will all depend on if easyJet stick around and increases its own A319/A320 jet ops to Belfast Int'l.
I think the point everyone is making here is whether BE mark 2 jump on BHD with it looking like a BHD base for them, so the 3 operators referred to are EI, U2 and BE. BACF were never in the equation once EI took over that
Turboprops certainly give a different experience esp for plane spotters!Easyjet have jet aircraft with Cat3B capability for foggy winter days which make it my choice of operator for sure.
Turboprop Cat 2 ATRs are less attractive for me.
We have family in Portrush and BFS is closer than BHD, so I do hope Easyjet continues, and the CAT3b capability was great when we flew out on Boxing Day evening. Aircraft earlier in the afternoon were diverting and when Easyjet came in it was 150m-200m visibilityEasyjet have jet aircraft with Cat3B capability for foggy winter days which make it my choice of operator for sure.
