Thanks Cambrian. Interesting. From time to time over many years now, we do get high level military movements. Usually USAF F15's in small formations. They can be seen in clear conditions through binoculars. With the quiet skies currently, they stand out as much noisier than regular modern airliners, and after passing overhead the noise continues for several minutes. Unfortunately recent weather conditions haven't helped identification. I am on the eastern edge of Birmingham.

DC3 alert! Canadian C-GEAJ over East Anglia heading north. At 10000 feet (and at time of writing abeam Lakenheath)

FR24 problems?

Is anybody else having problems with FR24? When I do a search for flights between any 2 cities I seem to only be getting a "No direct flights found matching your search criteria".

Thanks in advance.

Watching EK40 B777-300 departing BHX today, I saw a military aircraft heading towards Birmingham. On checking, it turned out to be a USAF F-15 Strke Eagle. What made me smile, was that it was using the call sign 'Brew11'.

Don't know about Brew 11 on the Fuji buiding but it rings a bell, it did at some point advertise Carling and Benson & Hedges at the same time while the Rotunda was flogging Ansels bitter and Coke as in Coca-Cola we were nothing if not healthy back then.

No idea what any of this has to do with Flightradar 24 but good to see Emirates back.

Thought i was seeing things!!. Boeing 727-200 G-OSRB has just passed overhead BHX at 19,000 ft. Owned by 2excel aviation. Doncaster Sheffield to Lasham. 37 years old!. I guess for scrapping ?.

In the last couple of days the FR24 airport schedule pages are being clogged with a lot of VG codes to domestic destinations. VG is IATA code for Vipper, a multimodal travel company so these are certainly ground transport, and probably bus/coach. Not convenient if you’re searching for flights.

They should fit them with ADS-B transmitters then we could follow them up and down the motorways :D .

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
