Very sorry to hear Gavin has passed away. He was very well liked and respected throughout the airport community. Condolences to his friends and family.

I seem to recall Gavin's twin brother was called Darren. This news of Gavin's passing is a real shocker. As is already posted he was far too young. RIP Gavin

That is very sad news. RIP Gavin. I remember the face very well from the days spent up at the airport putting together our support for the 24 hour ops in the 90s, although I am not sure if it was Gavin or his brother that I knew well. The name Gavin rings more bells though so I am fairly sure it was him. He was a lovely bloke from what I remember.

His brother did not spend much time at Lba so it was probably Gavin you saw !
They of course liked to play the is it or is it not twins game from time to time.

Very sad new this. I have known his brother Darren very well, being a regular down at the Clothiers and the Albert for many a year. I too remember seeing Gavin around the terminal many moons ago.

Tom Marshall

Tom passed away this week peacefully with family.

Tom was well known throughout the airport. He worked at LBA between around 2001 and 2018 and worked long after retirement age.

Before working at the airport Tom was already well known in the area. He was the former owner of Wharfedale Tyres on Church Street in Guiseley.



Rest in peace Tom

That's very sad. He was a really nice man and very easy to talk to. It was he that oversaw the initial plans that are now being built at LBA (albeit now somewhat altered internally and extended into two phases). An ex FA referee who was also a fireman at NCL, before moving into support management. He did a lot to begin the revival of LBA.

RIP David.

He spoke about LBA with such passion and was a formidable figure in his time at LBA.
