Congratulations to Villa for reaching the play-off final.

Enjoy your day a Wembley :)
Great news, but I'll reserve any congratulations hoping that they can win one more game this season.
As I've said before, Walsall are my team but I give my backing to any West Mids club (unless of course they are playing Walsall).

Not a blues fan then
Birmingham fan before a Blues fan. When you live in exile in the sport wasteland of Essex no one gets the Blues v Villa rivalry. After years of trying to explain it I have given up and cheer on the city first and The City next. Although come on Fulham!

Blues fan before Birmingham fan(until labour gets voted out anyway) never in a million years would I wish the vile all the best and get promoted.

Come on some of you Blues fans, I wished you luck in staying up. Villa going up would be great for the City. We are the only chance of getting into Europe sometime soon therefore benefiting the airport and us enthusiasts. This Villa hating is pathetic (and the other way round). Both teams in the Premiership would be fantastic

Sorry to interrupt the footy talk, but out of interest, is anyone going to RIAT this year? Very very very very very off topic which is why I've come to 'Random Stuff!' to ask :D

I agree with you flymetothemoon after all it just football although it drives you nuts the play off final is torture if it's your team the football is normally rubbish form, quality etc go out of the window and to be honest the managers might as well toss a coin, anyway through gritted teeth good luck, I've already had my brother in law who is coming back from Spain for the game asking if I would like a ticket it's best If I don't post my reply.

Lol and good luck it's a funny old game.

I have mixed feelings about the play-off system. I understand they do it to prevent a lack of interest in the mid-table teams in the latter part of the season who have no chance of promotion under the 'old' system of the top three clubs going up automatically, or little fear of relegation.

Nevertheless, it's not been unknown for the team finishing sixth many points behind the third club in the table to win the play-offs.

I'd like to see some advantage given to those teams at the top of the play-off group. One answer might be for team 3 to play one match at home against team 6 and for team 4 to play one match at home against team 5, thus doing away with two legs. That of course would reduce the 'take' and money still seems so important to football clubs.

I had this exact conversation at work yesterday.

We were wondering what is the maximum end of season points difference between a team winning the play-offs and one that finished third. I may do some research when I get time.

I guess it comes down to money as always.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
