Was you raving in Tin Tins Ray :hungover:

Tin Tins, The Steering Wheel, Exile, Ritzy, Dome II, Q Club, Bakers, The Institute/Sanctuary, Mode/Air, DNA, Subway City, Eddie's, XL's, Bobby Browns, Bonds and the legendary Snobs all kind of blur into one giant crazy, haze.

From what I remember they were great times though (y)

Love it, Love it, Love it. What is there not to like about that list. HAPPY DAYS

Now I am lucky if I can stay awake past midnight.

I must be older than I feel as I've never heard of half of those clubs

Me too (n)

If I have a (very rare) 'proper' night out now I have no choice but to write the next day off

I'm the same. The young lads at work sometimes ask me to go drinking with them but I'm usually falling asleep by 11. Needless to say I get called a lightweight but it's just an age thing.

...it's just an age thing

Twenty odd years ago I'd go out on a Tuesday night (cheap student night), Thursday night, Saturday night and still be able to have a couple in the local on a Sunday afternoon. Nowadays just one of those is a big ask.

The mind is still raring to go but the body is saying "not a chance son!"

I take it that's 11 in the morning - like me.

I remember the great Tommy Cooper, one of my Dads favourites.

The other two...

Dickie Henderson was a song and dance man come comedian and I took my mom to see him, he was not great Anita Harris was and still is a singer but only went as it was works night out effort, great night out that was apparently?

Tommy Cooper was hysterical.

Your older than you feel Vile8er I remember the Dome whether it was The Night Out and saw the likes of Tommy Cooper, Anita Harris and Dickie Henderson some you will probably need to look them up.
Fraid not as I also had many a good time at The Night Out. The Barron Knights were one act that comes to mind.

He could just stand there, say nothing and he has me rolling on the floor

He had the same effect on me. I was watching the live tv show Live From Her Majesty's (the London theatre) when he collapsed on stage. Even then I was not a great tv fan but watched this show because TC was in it.

Like many people watching I thought at first it was part of the act but it quickly became obvious that it wasn't when the stage curtains were drawn with TC's feet sticking out from underneath. The tv picture was faded then went blank for several seconds before moving to an unscheduled advert break.

I remember saying to my wife that he must have been taken ill and hoped it was nothing serious. We learned later that Tommy Cooper had died.

Tragic end for a great comedian

I remeber watching that too. Great comedian. I also recall some time later (probably on Parkinson) Jimmy Tarbuck chatting about Tommy Cooper and the discussion he had with him prior to the Live at Her Majesty's show. Tommy Cooper had told him that he'd got most of his act sorted but he needed to come up with an ending.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
