A bit more on the increases, always nice to see (y)

TUI ADDS EXTRA CAPACITY FOR SUMMER 2022 FROM BIRMINGHAM AIRPORT

  • Increased flying to 6 destinations
  • Additional based aircraft at Birmingham Airport
As travel restrictions relax, summer holidays are high on the nation's agenda and to meet the demand TUI UK has added an additional based aircraft at Birmingham Airport this summer.

Birmingham Airport will see an increase of six flights throughout the summer to six different destinations including Greek hotspots Kos, Rhodes and Crete as well as Turkey and Palma.

As Turkey continues to rise as a popular short-haul destination offering excellent value for the summer, TUI will operate a large programme from Birmingham Airport with 15 flights operating per week to Dalaman and Antalya.

For customers looking for longer than a seven-night stay, TUI will increase holiday durations to offer more 10/11-night holidays from Birmingham to Greece, Palma and Turkey
.

Yes its near the end of the Caribbean season for P&O (not to be confused with P&O Ferries) and the ship positions to the Mediterranean for summer. The flight is really about bringing cruise passengers home who have completed their holiday although some people remain on board for a bargain price transatlantic crossing, the ship usually ends up full. My wife and I are departing on a two week TUI fly cruise on Tuesday (BHX- Montego Bay) covid tests permitting and I bet our 789 will be full looking at the seat selector last week.

It's just the same as the start of the summer package tour season when flights go out full but return practically empty or in reverse at the end of the season.

TUI summer 2022 schedules for BHX still indicating 11 based aircraft each day end of May till the end of September:-

1 B789 for long haul
1 B788 for short haul flights Monday-Saturday, & Long Haul Sunday
2 B7M8 Max's
7 B738's

+ 1 extra B788 on Wed/Thu to operate to Cancun & Orlando Melbourne (04/05/22-09/06/22 & 13/07/22-27/10/22)

The B789 operated to Arrecife for a while late May to mid July on Monday, before swapping with the B788 on the Orlando service, and Bourgas on Monday evening is a B738 till mid July, when the B788 takes over.

Other Sub charter aircraft for TUI this summer appears to be:-

3 SmartLynx A320s - 1 Doncaster, 2 Dublin based
1 SmartLynx A321 - based Manchester
2 Titan Airways A320s based Gatwick
2 Avion Express Malta A321's based Gatwick

3 Sunwing B738's possibly based Aberdeen, Norwich & maybe Cardiff?

Is this including the extra based aircraft (737) they announced a couple weeks back Matt?

It sure does Karl, although its possible the 738s & 7M8's aircraft may change or swap around, depending on what new 7M8s TUI receive in the next few months. I have created a TUI timetable based on August these year from all UK/Ireland airport, if its useful to you?

Had a seamless trip thru BHX yesterday. All very orderly and well organised from start to finish. Express lane worked a treat and avoided a very long queue in the normal lane.
Tui were exemplary from check-in to apartment drop off in Lanzarote. Immigration at Arrecife weren't interested in checking the vaccination app on arrival. Straight thru....bags in minutes..... Tui 737 Max was a nice aircraft but still for a 6 footer it's a squeeze.
All in all it was a breeze from start to finish and praise where praise is due.... BHX and Tui were superb!!

Can't wait to travel with Tui and on the Pepsi MAX, lol in August ;-)

Good to hear a positive experience for a change! I must admit I’m considering booking fast track myself as I don’t particularly want to be stuck in a long que with the kids at the time of the morning.

TUI kick off their largest summer programme from BHX tomorrow, with 11 based aircraft from the end of May.

We should see the B76W on a few flights, operating Palma & Sal on Saturday 8th May, and Tenerife on the 20 May. Major change in their schedules, refers to to the 737 Max, which now does different flights every 3 weeks, for example, on a Monday, 1st week one Max will fly, Palma & Palma again, 2nd week it will fly Thessaloniki & Dalaman, 3rd week Mahon & Zaknythos, with the pattern then repeated!

I have created a matrix, showing the pattern here :- TUI Summer 2022 under TUI Aircraft Allocation

Excellent work but unfortunately I can't seem to be able to open the file. Does the B76W operate any other flights after May as far as you are aware? Thanks

Whateverg, file seems ok to me, if you want a copy drop me a PM with your email address? The 2 B76W's will be Manchester based all summer, then only operate from BHX on those 2 dates instead of the B788, not certain why.

If I try to view the file, I'm taken to a Dropbox site which asks me to sign in with Google or Apple or Password and Email address. I know that you recently uploaded a link to 'BHX Summer 2022 Flights', which I was able to download as both a 'PDF' and 'Excel' file. This was also from a Dropbox link, but didn't need a login. I've just found the link again, in the 'Birmingham Timetables' thread and the link still works. I hope that might help you figure out why the above needs a login.

Regards

Kevin

Oh the joys of Dropbox!!! Hopefully this link will take you directly to the TUI BHX Summer Aircraft Allocation spreadsheet!

TUI Summer 2022 Matrix
If I click on the link, it opens as a table within Dropbox. If I then click the 'download' button, it downloads as an 'Excel' (.xlsx) file. Initially, I got an error message in Excel saying that it wasn't supported, but now it seems to open OK. However, I think a 'PDF' file would help for those who don't have Microsoft Office or compatible program.
I really appreciate all of the hard work that you put into these tables.

Regards

Kevin

I noticed yesterdays flight to Kos was on the MAX rather than the standard 800 that was originally scheduled. Is it safe to assume you could end up on any version depending on the day? I wouldn’t mind trying out the MAX when we go.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
