I understand the third flight may well return if only on a tempray basis in the Summer, possibly June to Sept.

Again maybe something exclusive to good old BHX. We have x 2 A380s which is awesome for an airport of BHX size and then we have this mysterious 3rd daily flight that comes and then it goes. Only at BHX hey

As numerous others have said before the 787 would be perfect for the morning flight, there's obviously the pax for it otherwise there would be no extra flights, just not enough to fill an A380 consistently day in day out like there is on the lunchtime and evening services

I do wonder why what seems to be low season for Emirates up the M6 in Manchester, warrants an extra flight per day in Birmingham?

I’m not begrudging Birmingham gaining extra capacity, just not sure how that works out.

Yes as you say if it's correct very welcome but seems a bit odd, however as I said yesterday on the Air India thread airlines are notorious for rather strange/unpredictable decisions sometimes.

Not doubting anyone , just doesn't seem available for cargo ,which is unusual.
I seem to recall that when the third daily originally started, it was stated that the flight would not be bookable for cargo.
I doubt this means that the hold will be empty, rather that bookings via agents is unavailable as the space will be required for cargo re-routed from other UK airports.
Perhaps CL44 may know.

If the 41/42 is coming back (bearing in mind it was only suspended and not cancelled) then its not showing in their printed timetable. I know certain Airline employees read these forums (having been greeted by my user name previously by someone) so I am always wary of putting too much information online. EK need to start publicising the flight so passengers and forwarding agents can make plans to use it. BHX has lost enough carriers recently and whilst I am fairly sure that EK will not join this list they are not doing themselves any favours by delaying an announcement about the service. This is purely my own opinion.

Hi there Cl44, I totally agree with you on that subject matter, alot more advertising and promoting on all levels of advertising is needed to get that all important message across that Bhx is fully open for business, we welcome everyone to Bhx and the surrounding area... AndyC

My Australian niece was not overly impressed with BHX last week. She arrived from Dubai on a fully laden A380 to a 50 minute wait for luggage and 2 officials on UK border control. Must do better.

Both of these are outside BHX's control, but I would say 50 minutes to get bags off a 600+ seater is pretty good !

50 mins sounds not to bad especially compared to some airports in the US that i've been through. Seattle being the worst.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
