Use this prefix for new threads for Birmingham Airport
I agree but I suppose everyone has their own style of posting. I have noticed some long standing and informative members have reduced or stopped contributing although I don't really like to name folk but Matt995 and Brumx for example spring to mind amongst others maybe its just the pointless and repetitiveness of the same things at times.
If people don't like posts about reg numbers and such and its legit stopping users from posting their non existent updates and news about Emirates and their BHX plans then tell you what, get a mod to lock the thread until there is some.

Or maybe there is some exciting breaking news about the return of the evening flight eh?...

*TUMBLEWEED*

Thread has been dead for months.

I would say with the accelerated A380 retrofit and stopping A380 ops to 6 airports, they have eliminated a raft of 77W operations to existing airports - it looks like the 2nd daily BHX service seems to have become a replacement A380 service at MAN (we will be A360 + 2 x 77W) so it may be some time before BHX goes back to 2 daily let alone go back to the halcyon 3 daily operations.

It's not a great situation for BHX and MAN as US airlines don't appear to want to fly there but the one solace was the eastbound was solid enough, but with the current political situation, in the Middle East, it's having a dramatic effect on airlines in the area and those who may have been able to benefit don't appear to have enough resources to take short-term advantage

Well it makes a change from reading about how useless the BHX management are, endless lists of route predictions or updated timetables because Ryanair have retimed a Marrakech flight by five minutes! These days the BHX forums are sadly nowhere near as enjoyable as they used to be.
Swings and roundabouts isn’t it…the little updates from Ryanair / emirates / Jet2 might not be exciting as what we had 10 years ago, but at least we probably won’t be losing them any time soon!

I remember when a new airline was being announced every other day and then a couple of years later all our new routes were biting the dust!

Since covid lots of things going on in the world are making things difficult for airlines and I feel like it’s been more difficult for me to get excited about new routes as a result of this. There’s always the expectation that something will happen to mess things up.

EK37/38 are scheduled to make a return on the 1st of July, however may be postponed further

What's it today? 🥲
A6-EUZ came, was covering for EUX, it’s back to EUX until more A380s are reconfigured to the Buisness/Premium Economy/Economy Layout

No Dejavu at all... this is the first time the FCDO advice has been lifted! No meaningful level of tourists in the UK would travel against FCDO advice...
We rebooked our Oz flights via China because of the FCDO advice and travel insurance.

We met a couple in Guangzhou on the way back to London who travelled without insurance and were left stranded (with friends) in Melbourne trying to get back to England.

I should have probably made it clearer - it was a lighthearted reference to the releasing of COVID restrictions and the resultant scramble to put on flights, at around the same time of year

Government "Do not travel" advice has now been removed.

Emirates due to restart 2nd Daily flight from 15th July.... now being uploaded on to the emirates website.
Also, one of the 2 class 777s is now in the new livery too, so keep an eye out on that one. A6-ENY
A6-EUY is also in the new livery too

Just mentioning this, some of our previous two class 388 visitors are being inspected for possible wing mid-spar cracks.

The two class 388s which are affected are as follows:

1) A6-EOR - MSN 202
2) A6-EOS - MSN 203
3) A6-EOX - MSN 208
4) A6-EUO - MSN 227
5) A6-EUP - MSN 228

MSN = Manufacturer Serial Number

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
