There is obviously a reason. But the fact remains, both Liverpool football teams and Tranmere, use Liverpool Airport as their usual departure airport, its to be expected plus im pretty sure airport have agreements signed with those clubs.. There are others that do from the NW and Wales also. I started a thread some time ago because of the frequency of sports operations.

Again it depends on weight/distance the aircraft is flying. It would seem that a 77W flying about 6800 miles to SIN (Beijing for comparison is just over 5000 miles) with passengers, would need 3000 metres.

Yes quite. Its being suggested elsewhere, it's not just LFC using the aircraft.

Singapore used to use 773 direct from Manchester and the A350 do now and tend to use 2000m plus but the A350 has a much better performance

LFC would usually fly from Liverpool, but Klopp was concerned over the additional time for a fuel stop as he dislikes playing so far away anyway and will do his utmost to reduce the time spent out there. Thats why only 2 matches are being played in the far east and he wants the quickest way there and back. Hence last time and this he is forced to use a MAN direct flight instead if they play in the far east.

What has this got to do with Liverpool Airport ?

I've 'un-deleted' your post, because I think you have made a very valid point.

Absolutely nothing! Unfortunately, mullion seems to take pleasure in promoting MAN on other forums (not just LPL, but also BHX and probably others). It's something I find extremely annoying. I have no problem with open debate, regarding two or more airports, but just staring facts about anothet airport, without reference to earlier posts, I find totally unacceptable.

9 departures to Dublin today with FR / EI , must be one of the highest if not the highest offering from Liverpool to Dublin.

Late arrival to this thread.

Basically Qatar have their own restriction for short runway ops and they require a minimum of 2400m is what I am told.
Which would mean Liverpools runway is too short.

Congratulations to all our colleagues who have just completed their Trek to Machu Picchu in Peru and all in aid of our charity partner Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, raising over £50k for the hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Big thank you to everyone who has donated.F-kHetIWAAAkrCc.jpeg

Sat in a pub just three miles or so from the end of the runway with an mobile advertising unit displaying an advertisement for parking at Manchester airport. How annoying that must be for locals who support Liverpool airport.

It is, but for an easier airtravel experience in the NW, Liverpool Airport is the place. This must have something to do why Jet2 has been booking so well.

I’d also say some of the routes they are offering. Funchal as an example as it’s not served by other airlines at the airport.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
