Lots of Chinese students all across the north. Man is the gateway for many big cities across the north, of which it's heavily reliant on. Liverpool, Leeds, Sheffield and I suppose Durham and Newcastle to some extent.

One that I forgot is the return of Banjul. Could be a decent winter route for a Jet2 A321.

Nice list Ryan - but with the worsening economic situation / cost of living crisis BHX have got to try to retain what it currently has and to come out of it stronger, they were predicting 2024 for traffic to be back at pre-COVID levels but I think this will slip further now.
BA will never comeback to the regions in my opinion and the chance of a legacy US carrier is very unlikely. I think the only hope across the pond is a US / Canadian LCC or Hans Airways.
I think BHX will be focusing on more Ryanair, Easyjet and other LCC in the next few years.
I do hope Qatar comeback but it has all gone quiet, I am sure we could support a double daily Doha.

It will be nice to have Scandinavian Airlines back after their financial crisis and lengthy pilots strike. I understand they are slowly getting back to normal operations. Mid November looks likely for BHX flights to CPH and Stockholm.

SAS don't op bhx to Stockholm , but will be good to have Copenhagen back indeed

SAS have tried BHX on numerous occasions and have pulled off. Eurowings doing well on ARN and Ryanair starting soon too.

In the future Oslo could be an option for SAS but first it will take them a year or two to build Copenhagen bk up to 2 x daily airbus let alone add anywhere new !

CPH flights with SAS resume next Monday 5th September. A route which has worked well for them for many many years so will be good to see that one back after a pause to their ops! Also providing more much needed connectivity via CPH. Of course it would be good to see Oslo operated by SAS on a more regular basis in the future as it has run over the Christmas and New Year period previously.

But why has Birmingham Airport not being getting any success in convincing Airlines to serve the USA, since we lost direct flights to the USA, the airport seems to have lost a spark, yet in the time Mr Nick Bartons been in charge, what has he done.

I am sure Nick Barton and his team are doing all they can to attract new airlines to BHX. We live in difficult times all across the globe at the moment. It is hard enough keeping what we have to be fair.

I can't really see what point you are trying to make, other than unfairly looking to blame individuals who are doing a good job in difficult conditions.
