Apparently condor could be launching uk flights soon?

If I’m going to guess it will likely be Birmingham, London,Edinburgh and Manchester getting routes.

My guess is Hamburg and Frankfurt new routes for bhx if it does happen. Now that’s an if happens not an it happening.

Also Lufthansa group have also taken 41% share into ITA airlines.A press conference will take place in early February

I could be wrong but I think Sean is just putting the question out there.

Personally I couldn’t see it unless there’s a major reshuffle in the Lufthansa Group, and they take over routes from eurowings?

No chance!!! Their smallest plane the A320 is a 180 seater, far too big a plane to operate from Birmingham to Germany, Lufthansa are struggling on the Frankfurt route, the demand for buisness travel is waining, why would they want to fly into BHX, it's not going to make them any money, if they had a small aircraft, like a dash, possibly more of a chance!!!

Good evening
I was thinking earlier about bhx and i thought about it long and hard enough to myself that we need more flights from European international airports like Vienna a route should be year round.Warsaw a route that should be year round would like to see LOT operate it as I mentioned it on the airliners forum. What ur opinion I wanna know?

Forget LOT. They have been threatening to return to Manchester for years but have so far not committed. I can only assume that the traffic between UK and Poland is too heavily weighted towards LCCs.

If a European flag/national carrier is not alredy serving MAN they are not likely to serve BHX.

Currently MAN has Austrian, Finnair, Iberia Express, Icelandair, and TAP all operating a schedule plus SAS fly to Norway and Sweden which they don't from BHX.

I would suggest from the above sits Birminghams best hopes of expansion in Europe along with continuing growth by EasyJet and Ryanair. Long haul Cathy would be my best hope/wish for a new route over the next 12/18 months along with increased capacity by Saudi and Qatar with Air India adding both capacity to Delhi and a new service to Mumbai would be nice.

PIA look like eventually returning although I noticed they managed to land an aircraft on the wrong runway the other day (pilots suspended) which will no doubt attract the attention of UK regulatory authorities on their upcoming visit!

BA of course also operate out of Manchester but surely nobody would be expecting anything from them.

Could we see a widebody on the Tk service this summer with demand high?
Given the figures posted by David IT cannot figure how a widebody service would be remotely possible much more likely a reduced frequency on the current Turkish schedule would be the consequence of PIA restarting.

Not convinced PIA are a great idea for BHX currently I would rather see our existing long haul carriers going east continue to flourish.

What could we expect this month?

The announcement of PIA announcing flights to the uk for the first time in 3 years?

Ryanair new routes or increased frequencies

Wizz air changes or new routes if possible.

Not much else but i hope for the best

The answer to ur question is.Theres still 2 months till the deadline for new routes and route changes until the spring 2025.

Ryanair could add new routes
Wizz could make route changes .Yes they have no aircraft availability but they could suspend a route elsewhere and choose Birmingham out of the ordinary.Still lots to hope and pray for

Well we know thats a lie... They are growing their MAN and BHX bases by between 10-15% increases this year in capacity during summer peak, adding additional based A/C at MAN, introduced an 8th based A/C at BHX from April.... and those are just the 2 bases i follow!

With the unexpected need to withdraw the RYR-UK flights from the BHX schedule, there are still gaps to be filled in the schedule - though this may have changed since i last checked - but the risk of an unexpected new route has not passed yet, and i too expected the BHX-WMI route to evolve.

@Mackadown spotter may well be eager, enthusiastic and very optimistic, but not every element of every post they make needs to be beaten into submission.

yes we have less than 2 months till the summer timetable starts, but its not a very long lead time to start selling seat and advertising a new route.
It isn't, but wasn't Air India's 2013 return only announced about a month or so before? To the point we weren't even sure if it was actually going to happen.

I appreciate that's a very long time ago though.

Pegasus announced Bhx 5th November 2023 started December 23rd so can be short notice but usually a new service has a significantly longer lead in particularly a new operator Jet2 and Saudi for example spring to mind.

I think currently we will likely just see chopping and changing by the likes of Ryanair, EasyJet and TUI etc with only PIA looking likely to return sometime this spring/summer and I've still got fingers crossed for a Saudi increase.

Meanwhile to be honest some post are really just wishful thinking and a bit repetitive without any obvious substance for me at least.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
