Ajet would be classed as short haul Ant. İTA I'd say not. Cathay a big 👍👍

Hold your breath...don't hold your breath.....the news will come out when it's ready.
I remember when there were rumours about Jazeera Airways from KWİ 🤔

AJet is a subsidiary of THY, as is Sun Express. BHX has all points covered therefore by one of THY’s companies - except for SAW which PGT operate.

I remember the long saga of Kuwait Airways and MAN. Having decided to serve MAN it took them 10 years to start flights. Jazeera are gone from the UK market. I would not hold your breath.

ITA has all but abandoned the UK market.

What are the chances for Nouvelair from Tunisia?
In November there was a 280%+ of passengers in November.

Can see demand rocking on that aswell as it’s an low cost airline

That growth has come from easyJet. The issue with Nouvelair is that they are not well known in the UK, even from London they only have one route. I would say it’s more likely that Jet2 enter the Tunisia market instead.

The indirect passenger numbers for Mumbai are, apparently, highest for Barcelona, Athens and Manchester. I am not sure whether it is still true but at one time Manchester was the third largest European destination after LON and CDG.

Might not of got this correct but taken me all day so yeah.

Lots of slots

Get ur predictions below
With huge amounts of slots available here’s what I think
And fair play to jack for his comment regards to cph

This is what I think if I was a betting man.

Copenhagen 3 weekly
Derry 2 weekly
Agadir 2 weekly
Funchal 2 weekly
Espargos 2weekly
Salzburg 1 weekly
Madrid 3 weekly
Inverness 3 weekly
Lyon 2 Weekly

Reasons of guesses

Copenhagen-Very connected airport for travel and competition for SAS and it’s population for Christmas markets is impressive

Derry-Obvious reason is because Ryanair removed flights due to Eu regulations or restrictions.

Agadir-Again the same reason for Derry however demand is skyrocketing in Morocco.

Funchal-Little nice break away.Portugal sun and visit the Cristiano Ronaldo island of Madeira

Espargos-Enjoy the hotter Mediterranean weather,Lovely beach views and beautiful scenery of the sea. This route is popular and I think easyjet should compete against tui.

Salzburg-This route was removed 2 years ago if I’m right. Its served by Tui and Jet2 in the winter. Why can’t easyJet join in the fun

Madrid-Football would probably be the main priority for this route to watch Jude Bellingham. No No No well maybe yes but Madrid is a world tourist city with connections at Madrid

Inverness-John o’groats is only up the road no but to be honest.3 weekly for this route would probably be enough for demand. Its also got football up there too.Instead spending several hours on trains why not spend an hour via a flight.

Last not but not least it’s …
Lyon-Popularity in France is increasing in my own eyes. With the launch of Bordeaux and added frequencies to Paris. Why can’t we look on the bright side of baguettes and pandora bracelets.

Here’s a sneak peek at what’s already lined up for Birmingham Airport in 2026—and it’s looking like a busy year for new routes and expanded services ✈️:

🧡 easyJet Expansion

  • New aircraft: Two additional Airbus A320s joining the Birmingham base
  • New routes: Gran Canaria, Malta, and Lanzarote launching throughout 2025 and continuing into 2026
  • Holiday packages: Expanded offerings through easyJet holidays, including Mallorca, Sharm El-Sheikh, Antalya, and Tunisia—all available through October 2026

🇭🇺 TUI Airways: Budapest Bound

  • New direct flight: Birmingham to Budapest starts 4 May 2026
  • Purpose: Supports TUI River Cruises and Lakes & Mountains holidays
  • Bonus: Access to Lake Balaton, Hungary’s stunning freshwater retreat

🏖️ Jet2.com & Jet2holidays

  • Summer 2026: Flights to Greek destinations like Kalamata and Chania begin as early as April 3
  • Focus: Extending the summer season and increasing capacity for Mediterranean travel
While no brand-new airlines have been announced yet for Birmingham in 2026, the existing players are clearly doubling down with more aircraft, more destinations, and more seasonal flexibility. If trends continue, we might see additional carriers or long-haul options pop up—especially as demand grows for leisure travel from the Midlands.

Want me to keep an eye out for future announcements or help you plan a trip around these new routes?

Is that 2026 predictions or is that 2025s prediction because didn’t we just have 2 new easyjet aircraft delivered?

September is normally the main month for route annoucments, so not long to wait (if there are any)

I would hope for extra Ryanair based and/or more w patterns, Jet 2 are pretty well up to capacity in T2 both in terms of stand capacity and terminal space but not stopping them adding more units into T1.
Tui seem to be loosing market share to Jet 2 and Easyjet holidays an no sign of any expansion from them.

As we near this time of year for speculation…I thought I would run down some of my predictions….Again excluding the others.

Now new airlines I only can 1 or 2 new airlines one of them being Spicejet serving ATQ and the other being Ajet serving either AYT or SAW in my honest view.

EasyJet are now there a tough nut job to predict especially since they opened up there base at bhx and they Suprised some of us with there routes So I am going to precise with my choice.ATH, FNC ,NAP ,FCOand INV.
Increases to routes of RAK,LIN,BFS,EDI CDG and GIB

Ryanair are another tough cookie.I think with 10 based aircraft next summer and the stands been sorted in winter will be a boost to there expansion so I’m guessing 5 new routes and I’m saying WRO,KTW,RAK,AGA and HAM

Pegasus have been doing great since 2023 late winter S24 going 5 weekly ,S25 going daily and nearly getting a 3 weekly service to AYT which I still think will next summer with SAW increasing to 10 weekly minimum

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
