I have to say, the A350 sits very comfortably on the Cardiff tarmac.

It definitely makes the terminal building look small when taxiing past!I have to say, the A350 sits very comfortably on the Cardiff tarmac.![]()
How about the local ITV station?BBC Wales talked about it for all of 20 seconds!

I would not have expected it to be highlighted on the local news in the West Country. Parts of both BBC Bristol and ITV West Country North, both of which are Bristol-based, have Gloucestershire as part of their region and the Gloucester and Cheltenham areas look mainly to BHX as their local airport. New airlines at BHX such as Primera are never mentioned on the West Country news channels. No way! This is a huge story at local level, not just for South Wales, but the South West region.

Was Mr Calder generally positive about the prospects for the route?Yep! Literally showed the aircraft taxiing to the stand and Carwyn Jones getting off. A bit of voiceover from Lucy Owen saying you can fly to 150 destinations and that was it.
ITV Wales Did run a much longer report (even though they brought up Human Rights issues). They even had Simon Calder on to talk about benefits of this route and why people need to use it or lose it.

Thanks for that. He usually doesn't have a good word to say about BRS when interviewed on the local telly or local radio. In all fairness he was, he certainly didn't shout it down. He said what a huge thing for Wales it was and why it's a case of using it or losing it. He brought up the example of Etihad pulling out of Edinburgh.
He also said it could cause Emirates to look at Bristol as a destination. I guess the only thing stopping them is the right sized aircraft.

I have no time for the man. Full of his self importantace. A few weeks ago he wrote an artical about how people in the South West and South Wales are getting great deals on trains to London. He went on to say the trains are only £144. He doesn’t live in the real world with the rest of us.I find Simon Calder a bit hit and miss. He declared the A380 dead in an article just 2 days before the Emirates order for 36 jets earlier in the year.

They were mostly on the 6 pack from what i saw and stand 11. I'm guessing it was to make sure none blocked the cul de sac if they went tech.Did anybody notice where all the other aircraft was parked today around the time of the A350 visit and it wasn't by coincidence or PR related.

The first Qatar Airways 787 8 to operate to Cardiff is A7-BCM which is 4 year's old.
No. It was the Monday and Thursday flights that were cut until the middle of June.Is the flight operating next Monday? Presumbly yes but not sure because of the 5 weekly service.
