According to a Congress MP Air Canada are to start flights to Amritsar after securing a bilateral agreement. It sounds as if it could be direct but it would be nice if it dropped in at BHX on the way to and from India.
This should at least make them consider it.
Air India had sprung a surprise by discontinuing its Amritsar-Birmingham-Toronto flight, which was termed by many as the most successful flight in the annals of the national carrier’s history. The flight, which used to witness over 90 per cent occupancy, was withdrawn on October 31, 2010.

I guess you're looking at Flybe then Jerry.I think i guessed it if i'm correct they already fly to Faro from several other airports in the UK but not Lisbon. If it is them then hopefully BHX isn't the only airport they are looking at operating it from!

Nicely hinted, Ian!Would it fly between BHX and Lisbon by any chance?
I don't think Flybe will be starting long haul any time soon. More than likely they may look at med city routes with their E jets.Hi there Ray and all, as its been mentioned about flybe, is there this suggestion that they may be thinking of starting long haul or am I reading this wrong, can someone please correct me if I'm wrong....
