I wouldn't even waste any time with Virgin, and that's not a BHX unique statement.

Their focus is now firmly going west with the DL tie up, and despite its gains at MAN, this is also the airline that argued in parliament there was insufficient demand to start a 4 weekly MAN-HKG, to which CX has well and truly proved the, wrong.

Also, as ATQ isn't served by VS from LHR, I'd say the chances of a BHX route are not quite zero, as I suppose you can never say never, but it's edging towards 1% surely.

As for Air India, well, they have recently announced a rationalisation of routes. No indication was given as to what they meant by that, but, as seen as AI change their plans more than I have hot dinners, then God knows!

Bjorn Kjos says Norwegian want to add more flights and routes out of Newburgh/Stewart. Given their limited options on the MAX, I wonder if BHX is still on their radar?

Interesting that Dublin more popular than Scotland given the number of transatlantic flights from the Irish capital.

Would be great if BHX added. Gatwick is the wrong side of London to affect the BHX catchment. With MAN serving NYC with a number of daily flights, expansion at BHX is plausible. If they do then good timing so they can go head to head with Primera. I am sure the market is big enough.

I wonder how it would benefit Norwegian to buy or have a partnership with Monarch?

Gatwick slots would be a huge gain for them as would the 45 MAX that Monarch have on order.

As they keep commenting on growing their UK presence it could/would give them 'ready to go' bases at MAN, LBA, LTN and BHX, should they decide to keep them open that is.

It just seems really odd to me that Norwegian keep stating how they are eager to grow their UK market share yet all sun routes from MAN, BHX and even LGW are not bookable for next year!

Maybe something, maybe nothing.

Easyjet have emerged as the front runner to acquire Air Berlin as reported HERE

Should that go through then I wonder if they will pursue any interest they may have in Monarch?

It could add weight to the rumours that Norwegian are currently leading the way?

Guessing Air Berlin's A330's would go to Lufthansa if that was the case...?

10 A330 200s have gone back to the lease holder. Guessing the other 7 will be sold to the highest bidder can't see EZY keeping them.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
